Gotta love a good second chance
“The lines that I had so carefully drawn around our friendship were blurring.”From a near death experience to never feeling so alive. Merritt truly had a rough life, and after her father’s death she didn’t even think she had a reason to keep going. But because of one good Samaritan, she got another chance at life, a chance she didn’t want but ended up being extremely grateful for. Chase was ready to show Merritt she wasn’t alone and wanted to show her she was loved in this world. Which he did, I loved these two so much. I’m so ready to read the second book the moment I have time to!

Good romance book
Young love set in their early 20s which is a nice change from high school students. Nice book to read in the evenings.

Good story, cliffhanger ending
So good, so far. Not as great as the other Kristen Granata books I have read so 4 stars for now. I'm excited to see how it plays out.

Really stupid girl meets the perfect man!
Wow. Where to start. This story had so many twists and turns and yes, the author has us experiencing Merrit's past horrors to understand her incredible pig headedness. At times I wanted to slap some sense into her and wake her up to the beautiful treasure in front of her. Loved the picture painted of what happens when you refuse to make every moment count. Can't wait to start book two but I'm sure it will have me pulling my hair out. Love this author!

junk food gold
This kind of novel is like the ultimate junk food: easy, fast, read that you just can’t put down. Do I feel enlightened and inspired by an impressive and well crafted piece of literature? No. But I can’t put it down and it fuels the romance craving. My only problem with this book was how it had a lot of micro aggressions towards women. For example, every extra/background woman described in the book was portraying some negative female stereotype, and the main character seemed to hate and look down upon other women. Like a bar seen where she rolls her eyes when she walks into the bathroom and sees other women putting on make-or when other women were flirting with the heart throb of the novel. It’s 2022, women are actually supporting each other now-whether they are flirting, beautifying or rolling their eyes in a corner! Its cringy to read about a woman judging other women.

I wouldn't call Chase a rockstar
I shouldn't have read these out of order! They're standalones but also series ish. I had a hard time liking Chase after reading The Other Brother. That being said, it is fun to fill in the blanks. It's a sweet story, but Merritt is my least favorite FMC so far. She's hard to read and lacks heart. I know that stems from her depression, but she's kind of flat, lackluster. This story is slower than the others, and I'm hoping with the next book we get to see Merritt bloom. My favorite interactions are between Khloe and Merritt. She's the one who really makes Merritt's heart melt!

Kristen Granata came out swingin
Collision by Kristen Granata is her debut novel and she came out swingin! Collision was an incredibly strong new adult novel. The characters, Merritt and Chase, were so well developed. I felt like I knew Merritt. She’s used to a life in upheaval, she’s a bit closed-off, perhaps jaded. Chase is that perfect all-American that everyone loves. Watching him and Merritt lean on each other and be strong for the other while they fall apart. They both are able to learn and grow through each other. It’s a beautiful story. The secondary characters, the family and friends, are a great heart of the story. The cliffy made me gasp out loud. I guess I wasn’t expecting it! Thankfully I was able to pull Avoidance right out and continue reading. Otherwise, me and Ms. Granata might have had issues! I really was surprised that this was a debut author. The writing is descriptive and she tells a great story that wasn’t lacking or missing any details. I can’t wait to start this next book and see where Merritt takes us!
