I have a monitor which overheats and I've placed this fan over the intake slots - no more overheating. The fam has 3 settings and the whir melts into all the other PC noises. It would make a very effective face fan if you were using it on a laptop.

This thing is a life saver. My computer is in my bonus room (above the hot garage) and the A/C can’t seen it keep that room cool enough. This fan is awesome and keeps me cool. I usually only have to use it on low, but it’s nice to turn it up to medium when it’s really hot.

Product arrived defective. The left fan wouldn't spin; flicked it with my finger and it started spinning. Would work as intended for a few mins, then the left fan would stop, and I'd have to flick it again. After about an hour, the left fan completely died. Requested a replacement, it arrived a few days later. Opened the box of the 2nd one and a piece of the right fan had fallen off in transit, though it wasn't broken and was easily put back on. Both fans have been working perfect nonstop for about an hour, so fingers crossed but I don't have high hopes. Regarding the fans, they're much louder than I was hoping. Because they're small, they have a high-pitched whine that's annoying at full speed. Luckily, though, for me, they push enough air at low speed where the sound is less harsh. This get two stars for the nice form factor; it replaces my old desk fan that was taking up valuable desk space. Overall, I'd say that unless you have to have this form factor, high-pitched sounds don't give you a headache, and you're willing to gamble, save your money or buy something else.
