Excellent!
In terms of brightness, quality of manufacture, and design, excellent.Has magnets for holding to vehicle roof, but also, having internal batteries, it can be used away from the vehicle if need be. For example, vehicle is stuck in a ditch in the snow, on a curve where an oncoming plow could not see the vehicle roof. In that case, the self-contained beacon can be put in a place where oncoming plow or other vehicles can see the stuck vehicle in time. The pushbutton switch on the bottom is essential to conserve battery life. Internal batteries mean the vehicle's battery isn't run down. This unit has a jack for external power (4.5 volts DC) as well.

Could be a lifesaver
Every car should carry one of these for breakdown emergencies, especially at night. It is very simple to use and has a magnet on the bottom to easily stick it to your car. It is plenty bright to alert oncoming traffic. A smart purchase at a good price. I like also how it is run on four AA batteries, makes it easy to put anywhere without cables.

It works, but missing needed speed control
Spins way too fast, no needed instructions regarding hidden battery compartment inside the reflectors, open these up to find it, battery adapter compartment must be properly aligned or cover will not go on. Both the LEDs and filter are red so you get a true red and not pink or orange like units that use white LEDs and a red filter, I does not have a rubber gasket to prevent water incursion as well. Magnet is strong. Price is bit high though. Good brightness, nut more of a flashing due to the excessive;y high rotation speed and no way to adjust it. The button on the bottom is on/off only. It can use an AC adapter but none is supplied. Adapter hole is a potential water entry point. I would fill it with silicone for any outdoor application.

Fun, useful light
I bought this as a novelty but the quality is good and I can see how some people would use this on a vehicle -- especially as a warning light on the back of a trailer, for instance. We use it for fun in our gameroom or, more practically, when we order food to be delivered. Delivery folks tell us it really helps them to find us quickly. The light is extremely bright, offers an adjustable speed and has a sturdy push-on/push-off switch. The magnets are also strong and the light easily sticks to any surface -- sideways, upside down, etc. It's a nice, fun product.

Good, But Dims Too Quickly
This is a good light and has a multitude of potential functions. You could keep it in your vehicle in case you have to pull over the side of the road or even use it for a security vehicle or golf cart. It is very bright and it can actually throw light off reflectors about 100m out. You can even see it from at least 500m away, probably more. I love the fact that it's battery operated and I don't have to idle my vehicle to keep it running. It overall seems like a quality solid build. So what's the major problem with this light? It gets dim too quickly. Although the run time is rated at 40 hours, it will be noticeably dimmer after 5 hours. This would be fine if you only used the light for quick trips, but if you plan on running it a whole shift you won't be too happy. After 5 hours, the projection of the light barely went 10 feet. You could still see it a decent distance away but it becomes a lot harder to make out what you're even looking at. And you won't be able to tell what mode it's in. It just appears a dull amber light in the distance. For reference, I'm using eneloop AA rechargeable batteries which have pretty good capacity (2000 mah x 4 = 8000 mah total capacity). This light seems to go through the batteries and becomes dim too quickly. The 40 hours is certainly possible, but you won't be that impressed after using it for 5 hours and it just appears barely visible. I'm purchasing the P16LM by ESafety Lights LLC which takes 2 D cell batteries and uses 16 leds vs the 20 leds on this light. I'm going to use Tenergy 8000mah rechargeable D cell batteries which should give me a total of about 16000 mah for that light. Combined with the fact it uses 4 less LEDs, I think it will stay brighter longer/be more efficient. I'll give an update once I test out that light.

Very Bright LED Revolving Beacon
This is a LED revolving beacon that can be powered by internal AA batteries or can be powered by an external power source plugged into the jack on the bottom of the unit. The interesting thing about the bottom jack is that it takes an unusual voltage (4.5vdc) instead of 12vdc or even 6vdc that would be a bit more common.PROS:- Does not just flash like most LED instead it simulates a rotating beacon which looks much more impressive- Rotation rate can be adjusted using potentiometer at center of light inside lens assembly- Rotation can be very fast (like strobe) or very slow to look like old style beacon light- LED lights virtually never burn out- Very Bright- 3 strong magnets on bottom of unit hold it secure to roof- Can run off of AA batteries or off of external power source via plug on bottom- Produces no noise or sound- Has water resistant seal on bottom of lens assemblyCONS:- Unusual power needs (4.5 vdc) if using external power source

The switch need to be improve
Bought same one the 2nd time, still after a while, the on/off red button at the bottom do not work. When pressing it, don’t turn on. After bunch of trying, finally got turn on, but press it again, don’t turn off. I had remove one battery to turn the light off. Removing one battery and then put battery back is how it can work now, extremely inconvenient. The switch need to be improve.
