Playing in the Rain: Lindsey Buckingham & Fleetwood Mac

A great easy read that gives new perspectives of Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey's life and history. High recommended.

I am a long time fan of Fleetwood Mac, and have read several biographies about the band members. I wanted to know more about Lindsey the musician. This book gives insight into his life by reference to his song lyrics. It shows how his life has moved on and how this is reflected in his work. Lindsey is one of the greatest guitarist and singer-songwriters. Many people may not realise the contributions he has also made on the technical and production side of some amazing albums.

I read this for a book club, and I’m so glad I did. I knew a few Fleetwood Mac songs before reading it but didn’t know the history of the band too well. This was so worth the time and money. One of my friends had actually read the old version, which came out in 2019 but re-read the newer one for this and said there were a lot of new chapters and extra information. I’m glad the author cares enough about the band and Lindsey Buckingham to redo it and make it better for the fans.

This book is mostly a rehash of "Gold Dust Woman" except from the other side's point of view. That in itself is fine with me as I am a huge Buckingham fan...some "new" information would have been nice though.As for my heading...what is with all of the backstory paragraphs in every chapter that only repeat things the author has already written? It's a mess!!

I'm glad to be able to add this to my private library!
