I would have liked to see more photos especially the size of the pages.

Absolutely beautiful book with lovely photographs throughout

Dorling Kindersley are world renowned for wonderful books for all ages. This substantial work is made from paper from responsible sources, printed and bound in Slovakia. I understand that things have changed in printing so as to protect the very planet this collection of photographs celebrate, but for me the impact is considerably lessened by the muted, same ish results that come with this new way of printing. It is the shine, depth, that I miss. Of course on a screen you still get that, which makes it harder for paper to compete. Think Instagram pages of marvellous nature photos…The book sets out to armchair travel you all over the world to enjoy sections of the world’s most amazing gardens with lavish artwork and information, history to enrich and inspire. Places you may have been lucky enough to visit and places you intend to go to abound. It will give a great deal of enjoyment I am sure but I do wish the photos were more ‘alive’.
