The Savotta Jäger M is based on the Light Border Patrol (item 409207), which is used by the Finnish border guard. It is very compact and very robust, with the size of standard daypacks. It has a slim shape, which allows a greater freedom of movement, even in tight spaces. The hunter M is also very narrow like his big brother to work perfectly even in dense terrain. The hunter M is more modern and technical compared to the Light Border Patrol. The volume of the hunter M was not chosen too large, but so large to be able to carry with you for a day trip. Thanks to the many other material and equipment attachment points, the hunter M can also be used for minimalist multi-day tours. The extremely robust and abrasion-resistant 1000D Cordura material is completely waterproof coated on the inside. Special ITW Nexus buckles, which are also used in the Finnish military, allow use even at the lowest temperatures and hardest wear without breaking. The MOLLE webbing is sewn so that each individual MOLLE loop can withstand a tensile load of at least 100 kg. Details: ergonomically designed flat shoulder straps. Quick release chest strap. Pelvic belt with MOLLE webbing, quick release and removable tailpad. Padded back area with reinforced, removable back plate. Carry strap. Height-adjustable lid with internal zip pocket. Best pack I've ever had! Big enough for a 3/4 day hiking or camping trip, very hard wearing material, waterproof and the way the back is designed along with the straps makes it the most comfortable pack I've ever owned regardless of the weight I carry in it. I was worried because the straps themselves don't have any padding but they are great and everything is fully adjustable. The waist belt is also very comfy and hold the packs weight perfectly (also fully adjustable). The elasticated slips on either side of the pack are just the right size to hold a 32 oz bottle.

Great outdoor backpack. Well constructed ideal for wilderness survival and bushcraft. Simple but adaptable design.

Excellent backpack for military and civilian use
Was looking for a backpack (daysack) that I could use in the military as well as outside in public and decided on this one due to the 30 litre capacity, the excellent reputation of the company, use in the Finnish military and the olive green colour. I was looking at jayjays litefighter, berghaus munro or a camelbak, but I don't like to use a camo print in public and have always been impressed by savotta. Additionally, I feel that anything over 30 litres is too much and that the previously mentioned daysacks have a few features I don't like. In the military setting this daysack can be easily top flapped in your bergen and has a colour that blends in well with a temperate climate. It is very comfy and the build quality is the best I have seen. It is a bit expensive, especially if you import it from Finland and get charged import and tax fees, which I did. The only thing I don't like are the built-in pouches on the side, I feel they are too small and not secure enough, ideally I would like it to keep a water bottle there without having to secure with the quick release straps. I bought two medium vertical side pouches and a medium horizontal pouch to go with the daysack, but have not used them yet, maybe consider them if you are looking at this daysack. People have said to me to buy British, but I'd rather support a fantastic hardworking company than just buy something due to the location of the company. I am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to support savotta.
