Good learning toy but…
This toy is a good way to learn for your little one. The animals are well designed and look good. The fishing pole and animals work well. It is not too hard to “catch” an animal. The main concern is that the magnets are glued on to the animals. Those magnets can be ripped off and that is a big no no with your little ones. So I would use this toy under close supervision only and make sure to keep track of all of the animals so you can make sure they still have their magnet on. My little one does love playing with these though. She enjoys fishing and placing the animals in the bowl. She also likes fishing for a specific animal which the cards let her do. Overall a good toy under adult supervision.

Better for children 3 and up
This is a great educational toy. However, I would only recommend it for children 3 and up and not as advertised for children 1-3 or under close supervision. 2-year-olds can be rough, and one of the 2-year-olds in my classroom ripped off the magnet from the fishing rod. This causes a huge safety concern, simply because many 2-year-olds still mouth things and if swallowed could cause serious harm. It still can be utilized without the fishing rods, making it a great educational toy after all.

Great idea, better execution and it could be Great
This is an interesting set that is just missing a few things to be absolutely amazing. The counting bowls are good quality and I love that the numbers match the rainbow. The fish while cartoony maintain their distinct features making the identifying cards worth while. Each fish has a corresponding card with its name on one side and a smattering of facts about that species on the other. The fishing pole magnets are strong enough, though they are a bit small and less inspired than other sets. The bag that it can all fit in is a definite plus. Each sea creature has a letter printed on its back- which is almost good. But the letter has nothing to do with the name of the creature (which is a real missed opportunity if you ask me). And the magnet so you can catch the fish is only on one side. That means you can’t use the fishing pole with the letter side at all- so when are you going to use it? While not all of the letters are repped among the fish most are. 2 As, B, 2 Cs, D, E (if you do eel not sea eel), F, 2 Jellyfish, K, L, M, O, 2 Ps, 6 Ss, 2 Ts, W, and Y. (that leaves g, h, i, n, q, r, u, v, and z- sea urchin, zebra fish, narwhal, x-ray fish, make the shark a ‘G’reat white, add a hammerhead shark, rainbow trout, and pick one of the many fish that starts with an I, a v, and a q and voila the whole english alphabet is included)There’s one other problem, and it’s with the cards- scallop is labeled as sea star (not even as shell) on one side and not the other. A simple typo.Having the magnet go all the way through, fixing that typo, and lining up the letters to the names of the fish would make this toy *chefs kiss*

Fund learning game for smaller children
This Montessori wooden fishing game is very cute and fun for smaller children. I played with it with my 3 year old nephew and he enjoyed it very much. You can use it as a game or you can just play with it for the fun of it. The colors are bright and fun and each of the game cards have interesting facts on them that you can read to children. It's fun using the little fishing poles with a magnet on the end to pick up the fish. There are 26 little fish and each fish has a different letter of the alphabet on the back. It's a great game to practice learning and motor skills. The attached magnets seem secure, but we've only had it for a bit. I'll be curious to see if they stay on long term. The only thing I would suggest is to make the fishing poles and strings just a little longer.

Good quality
This fishing game is very cute and is made well. The pieces are colorful and there are some extra flash cards which come with the set. There are two fishing rods, each with a magnet on the end of the "fishing line." Each piece also has a magnet. While the magnets work, I only gave this set four stars instead of five because the magnets are very small. I can't just put the pieces in the bag and then drop the fishing line down; the pieces need to be faced where the magnets can meet. Other than that, this is a very nice set.

Educational and fun
This is a quality item that is durable. I chose this item for my three year old grandson. He is very entertained by this, but also learning at the same time. He absolutely loves fishing for things.

Fishing is fun... for older kids!
This is a fun set of magnetic fish with corresponding bowls to fish from. The bowls are made of a plastic/wood composite and the fish are like wooden puzzle pieces - some pressed wood product.Unfortunately, I would not use this with younger toddlers as stated. I would definitely use for preschool age, however. Too many small pieces that could be put in mouths. As stated in other reviews, the magnetic part is fun, but the magnet doesn't work on the letter side, so you have to be sure to flip the fish all facing the right direction and can't see the letters until you've caught a fish. Overall, great quality - just be careful with the age!

Great toy if you can figure out how to play the games.
I really love these types of toys/games for my granddaughter. This toy is well made and came with a separate bag for safe keeping and all the parts were colorful and packaged well. My granddaughter enjoyed the game very much when we found out how to play the games. That is the only drawback to this toy is that there are no instructions on how to play the different possible games. I had to look them up, which is fine, but if someone does not have the capability then its of no use. You can most certainly make up your own but it would have been nice to have some guidance.
