Good Quality, Strong, Durable Jute Rope
This jute rope is a strong and durable rope that can be incorporated into a range of projects: from lightweight projects such as crates, plant ladders, frames, curtain tie-downs, and decorative garden edging, to more weighty projects such as chests, concrete support blocks, chair swings, woven benches, etc.So far I've used this rope to make a hanging 3-level shelf, and the jute rope more than exceeded my expectations. It was relatively easy to cut (using industrial-grade scissors), and easy to tie.Included with the rope is a small roll of black tape which is very convenient in that it allows you to get going on any project and have a means to tape off the rope ends--to prevent any unraveling. As far as the color tone of the product goes, I would describe the rope as more of a warm/neutral tan.In my opinion, this jute rope checks the boxes in terms of quality, durability, strength, versatility, and value.

So nice… crafting and decoration
Okay so obviously this rope is not going to be DOT approved with a stated working load limit… hahahaha. The ad said that this could be used for railings. I’m not exactly sure what they had in mind but I thing something a lot thicker would be needed.for use for railing. This rope is fantastic crafting rope. Whether you are into the nautical theme or mountain theme, or just random historical stuff, this is a high quality addition. I’m not into cats, but it is the classic cat scratching thing… wrap it around something and I’m sure they’ll go to town.If you know someone who is into crafting with a rustic look , this would make a great gift. My daughter made a ceramic piece in elementary school which is really cute. I plan to wrap the edges of it with this rope and mount to a slice of oak tree the proper diameter. This rope is just perfect! If you’ve used this type of rope before, this is great stuff. If you are new to this type of rope, try it in the environment you want to to use it first. Outdoor environments are brutal on non-living organic materials.I am really happy with what I received.

nice natural rope
I like using natural products where possible in my garden. This stuff is nearly as thick as my thumb. I am using this thick jute rope to replace nylon ropes in my florida weave system for tomatoes. It's really strong and thick so could be used for a lot of other options. I may even take some scrap wood to add a hanging flower box on the porch. Note as a natural product it will eventually degrade outside in the sun and weather, but it beats leaving plastic fibers everywhere, and for the price jute rope is worth getting and just replacing rope as needed vs synthetics which may last longer, but also leave plastic in my garden as it degrades.Do note you will need to learn to properly bind the ends of juts or any natural fiber rope, you cannot just melt the ends like synthetic ropes. You can tie knots in the ends or bind it by cutting a few strands out of it and tying them together. Look for some videos on it, and you will quickly learn how to make sure it doesn't just eventually unbind.

A Good Product Even if Not What I Expected
This jute rope is strong and easy to use judging from its flexibility and lack of shedding. It's well-made and has a rustic attractiveness to it. The 164-feet length is quite generous and more than enough for many projects. Unfortunately for me this is not exactly the right product for my intended use, which was re-wrapping my cats' scratching posts; it's just too thick for that task. This was my error and no reflection on the quality of this jute. That, however, is no reason for a bad review. For those who have the right tasks for this rope definitely go for it.

Edit: Apparently PERMANENT odor of gasoline
EDIT: I have left this roll of rope outside, fully exposed to the elements (including heavy winds, two rain storms, etc) and STILL it has a distinct and heavy odor of gasoline. I don't know why, nor does it matter any longer. - I cannot trust this rope and whatever chemicals have been used in it's manufacture.NOT recommended.

Good quality jute rope. Great for cat scratchers and home decoration.
This 1/2" diameter jute rope is of high quality. I plan to use it to build a new scratcher for our cat. Our cat has outgrow his scratcher. He needs a much taller one, now that he is an adult cat, and a big one. His old scratcher used a smaller diameter jute rope that had a much harder surface and would shred. This new jute rope is much softer and does not shred. I plan to use a 3" Schedule 40 PVC pipe to build the scratcher. The actual outside diameter of the pipe is 3.5". I did a test wrap of the pipe, and it looks like it would take about 75 feet of this rope to completely wrap the pipe to a length of 36 inches. That will give me more than half of the rope left. My wife plans to use some of it for home decoration. I believe this rope will serve well for these two projects and would recommend them for these purposes.

You get a lot of rope!
I was not expecting as much rope as I got! It's heavy. I'm not sure if it's the length or the diameter of the rope, or both, but it's a pretty large roll. It's not a problem at all, I was just surprised. I got the 14mm diameter rope but probably would have been better off with the 12mm as it would be thinner and easier to work with. This is almost the size of rope I got a while back for a tire swing. So even if I don't use it up for repairing my cat tower, I can make more cat towers, or there will be other uses for this in the garage. I don't know how well or how long it would last if used and left outside subject to rain/snow/sun, but it might be good for temporary outdoor uses like camping. I didn't really shop around to compare products and prices so I'm not positive about the value, but just now I looked online at a big-box hardware store and this product is about 1/3 less expensive than comparable rope at the store. So it appears to be a good value, especially since it's free shipping.
