I'm 5'10 and I just fit in the tub when I crouch down. It's hard to get your entire body in the tub, but you can get almost to the top of my shoulders. It does actually hold the temp pretty good. I live in Michigan and it has frozen completely solid when the temps got below 0 though. The drain works well. Overall if you're looking to test the cold plunge out and don't want to spend a ton of money this is a good place to start.

I purchased this item and was excited about starting a “cold plunge “ regimen. However, this has absolutely no thermal value. I wasted two of those huge bags of ice that I purchased from Costco. I thought I’d wait 5 minutes after adding the ice to give the water time to get nice and cold, but 5 minutes later when I returned to this unit, 90% of the ice had already melted. I jumped in any way just so it wouldn’t be a complete waste, but the experience of my first “cold plunge “ had already been ruined. I realized that the cost of buying ice every day, the waste of time trying to get the water cold and keeping it cold long enough for the “cold plunge”, just wasn’t the experience I was seeking. I immediately returned the unit—simply an inferior investment.

I bought this ice bath for my husband since he is an avid workout person and is constantly talking about how sore his muscles are. I was looking around for an ice bath that wouldn’t break the bank and decent enough to do what it’s meant to do. This ice bath has far exceeded our expectations! It was very easy to set up and the materials used for this product were surprisingly better than I had anticipated. The ice bath was able to maintain its temp over night too! And easy to drain the water out from the bottom. I love that we can put and store it away easily when we are done with it. My toddler thinks is a bath tub for her, which it technically could be one for her if we only filled it up to her ankles and supervised as she plays in it. So if you have toddlers, this can serve you with more than one purpose haha I say worth the purchase and nice to have. Love that I got this!
