Fantastic product, and haven't had acid reflux ONCE since we got it!
We have had this a year now, and have had ample time to try it out. I can't believe I hadn't reviewed it yet, so it's far past time that I did. My husband and I both used to get acid reflux with our regular mattress without this elevator pad. It was so awful! I would wake up with what felt like burning acid in my mouth, and sometimes worse. My husband had his own occurrences with that kind of thing also. I had been doing some researching for a way to tilt our bed or something, so that it might help. I found this pad from a company that I already had another product from (the orthopedic support wedge pillow system I had bought for my dad), and it was such great quality, that I trusted that this would be the same, and it sure is!Now, we DO occasionally wake up having slid down the mattress a bit, but it's not enough to make any difference cause we still don't get acid reflux anymore. We have found that using flannel sheets, and wearing flannel or cotton pajamas does help not to slide down, and it is not by any means every night that it happens. It's once or twice a month, and as I said, it still has us sloped enough that the once awful issue no longer exists. We have recommended it to my in-laws because my father n law sleeps in a recliner because of his sinus issues, as well as reflux. He thinks he needs it to be even higher, but we keep telling him to try it. Maybe he'll listen one day. The Queen size 7" wedge set is perfect for us. I was worried that it would be too high, but you can't even feel that you're sleeping at an incline. In case this is something that matters, as it does to me, there is only a very very slight odor when you first open it, but by the time it fully expands, it has gone away. I am extremely sensitive to odors and chemicals, and this is another reason why I love this company, because I don't have to worry about it. All of their products are made with safer ingredients. Oh, and it took the full amount of time to expand, so please let it do that before laying on it. I can't recall exactly how long it is recommended to wait, but it did completely expand to the full size.Highly recommend!

Exceeds expectations
Arrived faster than expected. Well packaged and as advertised. Good solution for beds that blocks to raise head of bed not workeable. Wooden framed notched side rails, and steel frames with headboards are an example. Angle of headboard and attaching frames often preclude use of blocks. The foam under mattress is firm enough to not sag and also resist sliding of mattress due to friction of foam. Just a great product for those with GERD...

So far, so good
I've been sleeping on my "elevated" bed for over three weeks now, and am pleased with it. I've edited the following to incorporate new information. We ordered the 7-inch Full size Avana Mattress Elevator on Monday and it was delivered on Thursday in a 31 x 17 x 9" box that (according to the shipping label) weighed 15 pounds -- quite a manageable size and weight for just about anyone to handle. I wasn't sure whether to expect one whole piece or two halves -- we got two halves, which are definitely easier to carry around than one biggie would be, though I'm more interested in how well they perform. The pieces were very easy to unroll, and expanded to nearly their full size immediately. I could detect no odor whatsoever, but set the pieces in the attic to finish expanding and to outgas for a few days. One piece is very white, like lather, and the other is an extremely pale yellow, though I suppose both may continue to yellow over time.I would very happily have ordered the cloth cover too if the original zipper model was still available. But since previous reviewers say the currently offered cover is basically a fitted sheet, I bought a complete set of sheets for far less money (in a color that coordinates well with the rest of the bedding), and am using one to cover the foundation and the other to cover the elevator foam. I'm quite pleased with the overall visual effect (though, again, I'm more interested in how well the elevator performs).Like many others, I wasn't happy about the bed getting 7" higher (it was too tall already), so we eliminated the metal frame and set the foundation (it's not actually a box spring) directly on the floor. The foam pieces will go between the foundation and the mattress. (My initial thought was to eliminate the foundation instead, but that would have left the foam pieces sitting directly on unfinished plywood, which didn't seem like a good idea.)The new arrival has replaced the wedge pillow that I bought eleven months ago. It worked very well to control my acid indigestion, but as others have mentioned, wedge pillows are not ideal for side sleepers, because one's hips do not cheerfully bend sideways. I'll keep mine, though, for occasions when I'm sleeping elsewhere.Other reviewers have complained that the tend to slide down the bed during the night. I do occasionally notice that I'm a little further south than when I went to bed, but that sort of thing hasn't been an actual problem the way it sometimes was when I would slide down the wedge pillow.I'm still free of the acid indigestion, which had been striking me in the late evening, on the average of maybe a couple days per week. I still have no idea how sleeping in a different position has any effect on what my stomach does a few hours earlier (or, perhaps more accurately, more than a dozen hours later), but am not complaining! I hadn't gotten the elevator for that purpose, but rather because if I burp when lying flat, I often burp up some stomach acid. It's nice not to feel the need to sit up if I feel a burp coming on at night, and even nicer to know that if I happen to burp in my sleep, that'll be OK too.Oddly enough, I never noticed any chronic sort of acid reflux till shortly *after* I started using the elevator, but I'm virtually certain that was caused by one or two other things that I started doing about the same time. Fortunately, I find that avoiding tomatoes has virtually eliminated that problem for now, though hopefully I'll be able to reintroduce them once I deal with those other things. As I continue using the Avana Mattress Elevator, I'll update this review from time to time.

No more acid reflux at night
Like a lot of other reviewers, this essentially made my night time gerd go away. I've had it now for two months. Before then, I would get an acid attack every night. Wake up with my throat burning, even stuff in my mouth. Sorry to be so graphic.I had dreams about choking or drowning that I attribute to these acid attacks. I would wake up from these dreams to find my throat burning. Now, no more dreams! For me, and apparently lots of other people, this slight incline is all needed to let gravity do its work. For me, the incline took just a few days to get used to. The foam is below the matress. There is no slipping or slippage. The only problem is that my motor memory required adjusting. After decades of knowing where everything was on my night table, now it was seven inches lower. It took about a month to adjust. No big deal.
