Heavy paper!
I'm still a little new to watercolor painting and this is my first time trying out a different type of paper. Definitely not like regular watercolor paper. It is super thick! I needed to adjust my technique but the results look very nice! The water didn't immediately absorb. It took a second or two. The paints didn't bleed. There is a lot of texture to this paper so fine details may be difficult. Great for card making. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and I'm looking forward to using it more. I would order again.

New for me
This paper is very textured and soaks in the water very quickly. It's definitely more of a handmade almost canvas like surface and the deckled edges are nice. I think these will be really good for layering media.

Not for wet media!
This paper has a screen like texture on both sides I can only assume is left from the press during production. I guess this is what is meant by "surface treatment." As a result, watercolor paint, especially the granulating type, settles into it the crosshatch pattern. The paper also pills when it gets too wet. At this thickness, that really shouldn't happen, as it holds a lot of water. I would say this paper is probably okay for drier watercolor techniques and acrylics, drawing with drier media, mixed media after being treated with acrylic medium or gesso. I'm disappointed I can't use it for most of my watercolor work, but will likely put it to use in other projects. I'm going to try putting some pastel ground down on it and see how it works for pastel.
