Heavy duty material
I haven't had a chance to use this hood but will tell about it's quality. The canvas fabric is very heavy duty and sewn well. The hood is a one size fits all and for me it's a bit large for the area above my head, best to put some padding in to keep hood up a bit.Inside are 4 foam covered supports to help fit your head and make it more comortable which does work to some degree. The air attachment nipple on the back of the hood is a "T" in shape and covered on the inside with fabric that is open (not sewn shut) at the top of the hood. Not sure how well that will circulate air inside once connected to air supply.Even though the hood has a discharge valve in the front below the glass and has intake grommets covered by a flap that is open on the bottom there is no way to get enough air inside the hood to stop it from fogging. You will need some type of air supplied to this fitting since the glass lens fogs up immediately once on your head. There is a wide elastic band at the opening of the hood to help keep it snug around your neck. The flap, brim, collar or whatever someone wants to call it is a good shape and covers the area around the neck and shoulders well. Now to the main glass face shield, the glass is a fraction wider than 1/8 inch so it's a metric measurement. There are no markings on the glass to verify it is tempered or a safety glass of any kind.I would not trust it and best to replace with some type of Plexiglass etc.I will follow up on how well it works (or doesn't) once I have used it.The fabric and quality of how it's made is well worth the cost since you can't even come close to making one for this price.Update 12/12/23. The discharge (exhaling) valve on the front just below the glass does not funtion at all. The diaphram is suppose to open and close when breathing but this one is just a piece of "rubber" that doesn't move and is in the OPEN position all the time allowing particles inside the mask unless you have an air supply to the hood to keep a positive pressure inside.I replaced the glass with "plexiglass" and shaped it some by warming and bending it. This worked OK but since the plexiglass is thinner I needed to tape all edges on the hood to help keep particles out.I used this to grind fiberglass on the inside of a boat to replace the transom. I did hook up an air supply to the back of the hood and it worked great. The lens stayed clear and the positive pressure inside the hood kept any particles out. I was also wearing a cartridge mask under the hood.Even with the changes I had to make I would buy this hood again.

Good value
This is a good hood. The lens is glass, and the overall design keeps sand out. I have used this several times now on big projects and the only annoyance is the lens fogging, but that's not a design flaw; all hoods fog. It does have a fresh air tube intake but my fresh air pump is not large enough to keep the lens from fogging.
