Curious George: Rocket Ride And Other Adventures [DVD]

Curious George has been my son's absolute favourite cartoon character for the past six months (18 months - 24 months years old). He never seems to tire of him and it's still going strong. When I ask him which DVD he'd like, the perennial reply is 'George' and then when playing it (there are various episodes on the DVD) he has just mastered the language of 'one more' when I threaten to turn it off. The thing that I like most about Curious George is that is gentle, non scary or violent fun - ideal for toddlers (its surprising how much isn't).

Curious George is such a fun and sweet cartoon, my kids love him.

My five year old son loves this DVD and to be honest his 10 year old brother doesn't seem to mind it being on near bedtime either! Loads of great stories on here and a great price. If your child is a fan then this is ideal.

My 2yr old daughter loves George and prior to our holiday we decided to purchase this dvd to keep her entertained during the flight and whilst we were away.. It certainly captured her attention with various episodes and included the voiceover as per the tv show. Great buy..

mes enfants adorent le petit singe. le film sur la poursuite d'un éléphant ils connaissent par cœur. J'ai voulu leur faire plaisir en achetant aussi les petites histoires qui sont pratiques quand on leur permet de regarder la tv juste pendant un moment. J’espérais y trouver une version française, mais malheureusement ce n'est qu'en anglais... dommage. Petit Georges passait souvent sur les chaines tv pour enfants mais on a du mal a trouver toutes les saisons de ses histoires en français en vente...

My wife and I do not favor much television for children, but there are times it is suitable. Our two-year old is simply wild about this Curious George series. It is not only entertaining, but CG solves problems and learns things in each episode, that the child can learn with him, so his parents are wild about it, too! From the lessons to the voices to the animation -- even the theme music -- all is very well done. Highly recommended.

We are not cable tv people, and enjoyed several seasons of Curious George on Netflix for a long time. It's no longer available there, so I found these DVDs to take their place. This one features two of his favorite stories, which were at one time combined into a single episode. When PBS got ahold of them, they added this awful segment after each story with a really obnoxious opening statement: "Curious George is a monkey, so he does things you *can't* do." First, that doesn't make sense. He does outrageous things because he's a fictional cartoon, not because he's a monkey, and he does a lot of things only a fictional monkey could accomplish. It makes no sense to not tell children the real reasons why. In fact, it's bizarre. After that weird intro, it switches gears to children doing busy things with lots of camera angle changes and background noise, and it completely throws off the calm, peaceful tone set by the show. Some parents may like this added feature, but I hate it. The type of noise produced by it heightens my anxiety and is entirely unappealing to me. Overall, I still recommend this show to any parent of a young child, and especially the stories on this particular DVD. Space monkey and train monkey are a huge hit around my house ;)
