ViperDefender Backboard & Sisal/Bristle Steel Tip Dartboard Bundle

I needed a surround that fit relatively tight around my Winmau Blade 5. I 3D printed a ring light and the legs holding it are basically friction fit between the board and surround. Initially the surround was slightly too big, but Viper includes a strip of adhesive backed foam to make it a little tigher. This worked perfectly. I've had the surround and light up for a few days now and nothing has moved. I haven't yet actually hit the surround with a dart yet, fortunately. The foam is pretty dense and would absorb most of the force of a dart. Overall, this is a nice looking surround. I appreciate that it's black and not a loud color. Most of all, I like how it holds up my light ring.

If you are curious exactly what the outside diameter might be, mine measures 72.8cm. The thickness is as close to nominal as you can expect for a piece of foam.The backside is plain black if you prefer not to show the logo.Assembly is simple. The foam tape is helpful for filling the gap between the outside edge of my Winmau dartboard and the ring. If you expect to replace your dartboard sooner than your ring, you can get a sheet of 2mm or 3mm EVA foam from Amazon or a craft store very inexpensively and use that instead of foam tape.

I purchased this to try and fit a DMI Pro-Trainer Bandit which measures 17.75" across. It fit well once I added the foam tape, but I think a 17.5 board would've been a bit loose.The inner diameter of the one I received was 17 7/8". I am not sure if this is the normal measurement, but the space it left for my board was 1/8" (photo that reveals bottom of board). I personally would have been unhappy if I had a 17.5" board or smaller and had to deal with a much larger gap.Overall, the product is quite nice, but I was not a fan of the gaps that were visible on the outer ring (photo that shows the full board - disregard lighting, my track lights come in tomorrow). These gaps were there even when it was loosely fitting (before foam tape). It still does not look that bad and would probably be less noticable on a darker wall.I forced myself to test the foam with a throw (or 2 - I missed inside with the first dart). With a 1 3/32" tip on a 21g dart, there was about 1/4" of space before reaching the wall. My tips are ringed, which may have caused some drag to prevent it reaching the wall. I have a medium-hard throw and could see where a harder throw or heavier dart with a smooth or longer tip could easily reach the wall. For my purpose, it is fine.The material looks like it will hide holes fairly well. In fact, when I took a picture to show, I thought the the blemish in the middle of the photo was the hole (it is actually to the left). I don't plan on putting a lot of holes in it, but I cannot vouch for my friends.I am relatively happy with the product for my setup, but was not really happy with the fit and finish of the outer ring. Again, I probably would have been disappointed if I had a smaller board. With the current price of $31.99 USD, it is a much better option than manufacturing one yourself.

Fits our dart board great

I like it. Looks good and very easy to put together and has a very nice snug fit but it was a little overpriced but I do like it better then my two dart cabinets. Probably will buy another very soon 🙂👍

Have my board on a tripod with no backboard. (Wanted a.portable dart set up) This is a must have for me. Fits snugly around the board and doesn't shift off when a bad throw lands on it. Large enough to protect agaimsr Bad darts ... nothing can really protect against drunk darts though. After or if mine wears out from use, I will replace with the same exact defender.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do for a way?Better price point than a lot of its competitors

This surround is exactly what I was hoping for. High quality at a very good price. It fits my professional dart board perfectly, looks really good and performs exactly as described. The 4 pieces fit together nice and tight so no coming apart. Note: The first 2 pieces I tried to put together didn't allign quite right so I switched 1 piece and everything fit fine. Very happy with my purchase, highly recommend!

This product is like a hard foam jigsaw in four pieces from the box. It goes together very easily and well. If you don't want to read the branding once it's around your dart board, you can simply turn it over for a blank black ring.
