It's loud enough that you can hear it from the next room but it's quiet enough that you can stand next to it and still have a conversation with someone, without having to raise your voice.Previous kettles were louder and didn't boil anywhere near as fast. It's a pretty good kettle.

Don't know about decibels but I would say it's not very noisy and boils quickly without too much steam because it cuts out quickly once boiled well pleased overall once the slight plastic taste fades away when it was new

Yes, you have the minimum level: 1 cup or 0.3litre, then 2 cups, or 0.5 lt, 4 cups = 1 litre, 6 cups = 1.6 lt and maximum, which is 1.7 lt. clearly visible on both sides. I find the measurements spot on for my mugs.I'm really pleased with it, light but not flimsy, stylish and efficient - and I don't work for Bosch!!
