Mountainpeak Spare Tire Carriers for Platform Roof Racks Cargo Baskets, Spare Wheel Holder

The basic design is good, but the overall quality is poor. The hardware provided to install on a roof rack doesn't fit any standard sized rails. I had to go purchase new mounting hardware. The lock that was provided is a cheap suitcase lock that will not do anything to prevent theft. The large wing nut that holds the spare tire down would not finish tightening because it was lopsided and ran into the locking tab on the place to hold down the tire. I would have returned this product, but I don't have time before a trip, so I had to make several modifications before it would work.

I haven't installed this yet, and I may have to modify it to suit my roof rack, but, that is to be expected with a "universal" accessory such as this is. I unboxed it today and was pleasantly surprised to find a very sturdy product, well worth what I paid for it.Four stars because it hasn't been installed yet, I think it deserves five, we'll see how the installation goes.I'll probably have it installed by the end of the week and hope to have many years if trouble free service from it.
