Powerful but short
These work very well for the price, the steel holds up quite well too.The only thing to be aware of is that they are far shorter than most loppers designed for this size of branches. At least 30% shorter than the fiskars of similar power that i bought these to replace. And also, they are more sensitive than I would have hoped to becoming misaligned if you twist too much while using them. Their shorter length makes them easier to keep steady, so this isn't an issue you might have as often, but they can get pretty far out of line from one bad slip if you're using a lot of pressure.Overall I liked the fiskars more, mainly for the length but also the sturdiness of the build. I'd say the edge actually holds up better on the tabors though. And they were almost half the price.Bottom line - it's a good deal and they are great for the job that they're listed as doing

built as strong as a larger tool
With my large, old, store brand bypass loppers worn out, partly due to a misaligned blade from off-center cuts, I am replacing them with anvil style cutters. While waiting for delivery of the larger replacements, there were some branches that needed cutting which are beyond the size specified for these small TABOR TOOLS loppers. I was careful not to destroy the tool, but I didn't need to be. These seem to be constructed as well as larger ones. They may be small, but they are built strong. I just noticed that the larger model GB30A also has a 1.5" cutting capacity, and the pictures on the TABOR TOOLS website shows the same cutting mechanism, so the GB19A may very well be built exactly like their larger model, but with shorter handles. With the shorter handles discouraging use beyond their intended capacity, they will likely likely last a long time cutting the branches they were intended to cut. The ones I received were made in Taiwan. After receiving my larger WOLF-Garten loppers, I noticed a similar appearance. Both have the same color aluminum handles with red grips and trim, with the grips even being the same shape. I suspect TABOR TOOLS is mimicking the look of the German made WOLF-Garten, but either is worthy of emulation; I like them both.

Well Made Tool
Easily cuts branches and stays sharp. Well made.

Like them!
You sacrifice some leverage power with these short-handled loppers (I had a little trouble cutting through the 1 1/2" thickness they claim in the write-up), but I LOVE the smaller size. Makes them as easy to use as a pair of garden shears and they handle up to an inch with no problem.

Easy to use but cuts are sometimes not clean, blade poorly aligned
This is an edited review. In an earlier review I stated that the loppers have plastic parts, and gave it two stars and a poor review. This is because the lightest gray is not steel and appeared to be coated with something. It had a very plasticky color and feel to it. However, an electrician friend tested this part to see if it conducted electricity and it did. So it is not plastic after all, although he was unable to determine what alloy it was.In spite of that, I was going to return the shears because the blades showed daylight when closed. But for what they cost I decided to keep them and try them out. They are very lightweight and comfortable. I’m a small older woman with thin arms, not a lot of strength. I was able to easily cut 1” suckers out of a large shrubby tree. Much easier than my comparably sized bypass loppers with wooden handles. In my earlier review I commented about the gap on one end of the blade. This did indeed cause a problem with several cuts because the blade didn’t go all the way through the limb on the end closest to the handle. It’s easily solved by cutting further away from the handle end of the blade, but still, the blade alignment is sloppy. I knocked a star off because of this.Handling and ergonomics: 5 StarsEase of cutting for a person who isn’t strong: 5 StarsBlade alignment, sometimes resulting in cuts that aren’t clean: 2 Stars

Love using them
After using the trimmer myself and the job done so fast and easy I thought will this be like all the other trimmers that I've used . No problems when with sore muscles or my arthritis bothering me the next day after using them . My uncle who is 81 years old decided to use them at his house and was a little slow the first couple of clips but then he speeded up cutting branches , and this usually walks using a cane for balance issues . No problems with any soreness in his arms , so he had me to order him a pair of the trimmers !
