Worth the investment for your pets
BACKGROUNDI own several labradors. If anyone has seen the film "Marley & Me" then you will understand what type of dogs I have in my care. For everyone else, lets say they are very destructive. They are able to tear up tennis balls in a matter of seconds.APPEARANCE & MAKEThe sprong line of toys have a weird texture to them. I would describe the feel as the feeling of velvet due to the soft fuzzy feel. There are multiple shapes as well as multiple sizes.RELIABILITYMy labradors have had an assortment of shapes and sizes for several weeks now to break in. The squeakers still work in all but one of the toys. The smaller Sprong Hex Balls are unfazed but, on the larger Hex Balls, several of the prongs have been tore off.The velvet fuzzy material does get dirty but these balls are relatively easy to spray off and scrub compared to the dense cloth material that makes up a tennis ball. If your dogs are chewers, that velvet fuzzy material WILL come off as well as the fact it naturally comes off through normal wear and tear. Also, during the course of playing catch or just through chewing, the material absorbed slobber and so the ball does become weighted down and splatter during the course of play.CUSTOMER SUPPORTNot utilizedPROS:++ Sturdy construction surviving a pack of 4 labradors for 3+ weeks now++ Assortment of shapes and sizes available to chose fromCONS:++ Larger Hex shaped Sprong ball had its sprockets tore off too easily++ Costly compared to similar items

Her fave toy! On our third in seven years!
This is my Doberman pinscher's fave "baby ball", and miraculously, she doesn't put a mark on it, even though, true to her breed, she will scientifically disembowel stuffies and eat the fur off anything really fuzzy. And yeah, it's a bit small, but we got it for her as a pup and she doesn't like the larger ones as much. Go figure. So, caveat: not safe for toy-eating dogs, obviously. It's like flocked foam rubber. But it's soft, fuzzy without having removable fur, and squeaks easily but not too loud, and the squeaker lasts pretty well. Oh, and annoyingly, it does head for under the couch far too often. We have three so far; one stopped squeaking pretty quickly when a stray tooth I think made a direct hit on the squeaker hole. One, seven years old at least, has had all its flocking sucked or dissolved off, but still manages a whispery squeak, and a newer one which is now of course her favorite. She holds it, squeaks it and whines along with it (??). And takes it to bed with us.But I would strictly supervise this until you know your dog won't eat it. It's all fun and games until bowel resection.Worth a try: you just never know what their favorite toy will be.

Incredibly disappointed
My llhasa apso has the red spikey ball version from Walmart that has lasted 2+ years. While it's not as fuzzy as it once was, it still squeaks. It's been his favorite toy and while others break and get shredded within a day, this one has remained in tact. A recent move made me want to get all new toys and it was time to say good bye to his dirty red ball. How guilty I now feel... Since its replacement was considerably more expensive, I opted for the bone version on Amazon. BIG MISTAKE!After removing the packaging, I realized it barely squeaks. One side doesn't work at all and the other side, only if you push in a very specific spot a faint noise could be heard. But, it was already open... within 10 minutes of having it I had to take it away. No more squeak and any longer and there would be no more blue fuzzy coating! Gross. Save your money and your dog's health. This toy is useless, unsafe and overpriced.

Lasted less than a day
I bought this ball for my cousin’s puppy who came over for a couple of hours. He stayed for a total of 5 hours. The puppy loves this ball. After 3 hours, the ball started ripping and the ball stoped squeaking. Im glad the puppy likes the ball but I was hoping it would last more than 5 hours. The ball is also made out of velvet and thats what made it easy to rip.

Squeaker died immediately
It’s difficult for me to figure out how to rate this product. If my dog were writing this review, he’d give it 100 stars. Hands down, sprongs are my dog’s toy of choice. I used to purchase these for years from Walmart for my dog and suddenly, I couldn’t find them in stores anymore. In terms of durability, these are not chew toys... obviously. They are squishy, foamy, squeaky, erratically bouncy balls that send your dog into a squeaking frenzy. But they will face their ultimate death within about 3 months, if your dog doesn’t demolish it intentionally. The reason for 3 stars however, is the squeaker within the sprong I received from Amazon broke within about a day. The squeaker was never the issue with sprongs I purchased within the store. This one in particular though, actually rattled before I even used the product, and consequently fell out of the sprong the first day. Were these the left over, wholesale liquidated sprongs from a store? Pre-damaged? Perhaps we received a faulty toy by bad luck. But due to our last purchase, I decided to not repurchase. Watching my dog attempt to go on a squeak rage in vain made me feel pretty bummed.
