This Flexible Articulating magic Arm (Model No: SUA010) arrives in a plain brown, Neewer branded cardboard box. Inside the box, wrapped in bubblewrap, is the arm itself as well as a hex key.The arm is an all metal (aluminium alloy) construction, and is well made with a good finish throughout. It feels both sturdy and durable whilst remaining fairly lightweight.The arm is primarily designed to allow you to attach items, such as a camera monitor, to your camera cage. However, it would no doubt also prove useful in a number of other situations. At its maximum the two plates are 12.6cm apart, so it is quite compact.At one end is a ¼”-20 thread screw thread alongside a retractable anti-twist pin, and at the other is a 3/8”-16 and another anti-twist pin. These thumbscrews have good knurling on the edges for grip, but should you wish to make sure they are tightened as much as possible, there are also holes in them, into which you can insert the included hex key to get extra leverage.Both plates have a thin rubber pad on them which both helps protect any equipment you attach them to from scratches, as well as providing extra grip.The tightening screw has wingnut style handles that allow you to easily tighten and loosen the ball heads. Made of metal, this screw feels reassuringly robust.In use the arm worked well. It was easy to use and held very securely. The design of the ball heads allowed it to be positioned in . Numerous different positions, allowing a lot more versatility.In conclusion, this is a very well and solid piece of kit, that does what it sets out to do, and should prove very useful. Just be certain that you need a 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 head, otherwise you will need to get an adapter to convert the thread to the size you need.~ Amazon asked me to review this product and to give my honest and impartial opinion about it. There's an intrinsic value to adaptability in the realm of photography, and this magic arm embodies that fully. Toting my camera gear around different locations, I found the solid structure reassuring - it's clearly built to last, yet not a burden to carry. The manoeuvrability is remarkable, with the dual ball heads allowing me to fine-tune my shots with a full range of motion. The anti-twist feature is a smart touch, enhancing the stability of my attached devices. Those elusive perfect angles became much easier to achieve, making this arm an integral part of my gear.

A good, all metal arm. Strong enough to hang most video equipment (lighting, monitors, etc) from, as well as most mirrorless cameras directly (there's some rubber there to protect your camera). Only slight issue is that the arm can be a little fiddly as there's one tightening control for both of the ball heads, although I can see why they did it this way (one control equals a more compact design)Oh, there's also an included Allen key and I have no idea what it is for, because there are no hex screws to be seen... I'll assume that's a freebie!

This is a review of the NEEWER Flexible Articulating 'Magic Arm' with Dual Ball Heads. It arrives in a cardboard box together with an Allen key. It has 3/8 and 1/4 securing screws with each base having a spring loaded, retractable locating pin – see photos. The actual engineering is first class, the balls are finely machined and smooth in movement, which is aided by rubber rings to prevent slippage with a quoted weight capacity of 5.5 kilos, so its well 'up to the job' as they say. In use it’s very handy for so many accessories - in my case, a monitor unit for my camcorder. Its actual physical size means it does not take up any room in my camera bag, either ‘flat out’ or folded up. Considering the workmanship involved and the load capacity, its perhaps a very handy accessory that will last well.

Very good quality articulating magic arm from Neewer made from good materials and is built to last.The magic arm is strong and durable and due to the small size, being lightweight it can easily fit into your camera bag or even your pocket.I am impressed with this magic arm it does it’s job and does it very well, very easy to install/setup connect your field monitor, light, microphone etc to one end and the other end attach to your camera cage or anything you can screw in a 3/8 or 1/4 to.Overall I am very happy with the articulating magic arm and I would recommend it.

Versatile gadget for camera rig attachmentsThis little Neewer gadget is designed primarily for use with camera cages, onto which can be attached a range of accessories such as lighting, microphone, screen monitor etc.It measures 13cm in length with a ball and socket at each end which are both tightened and locked simultaneously by a central lock screw. One end has a standard ¼ inch thread and the other a 3/8 inch thread. Everything is made from lightweight alloy and all the movements are smooth and lock tightly.It’s a great gadget for attaching extra accessories to the camera rig.

Full Metal alloy construction, once tighten the middle knob it will not move or creep. The ball joints has built in rubber ring which stops any creep which works well and even when fully extended it holds up my lighting rig well.3/8 screw on one side and 1/4 screw on the other and these are not changeable without adaptors.

£39 at time of reviewI’ve several articulating arms for holding mics and monitors on camera rigs, and I have to say this is the best of the bunch so far, it’s rock solid! NB: has a 3/8 one end and a 1/4 thread at the other. Can’t fault this, it’s really good, perfect size for me and excellent qualityHope my review was helpful
