CAUTION Dye leakage - think okay but more info would help
Originally = Seems quite good value for money. Attaches securely and safely to the cage. My hamster drags one carrot around constantly with all of the greenery gone and gnaw marks evident all over it. Bizarrely, the other carrots are still sitting in-situ after a fortnight. I have some lovely photos of him sitting proudly between the two remaining carrots after he has gone onto the ledge to get his forage food :)Update = I performed a deep clean of the cage and was rotating toys so I was running everything under hot water. I was shocked at the dye that came pouring out off the base. It was under the tap for a good three minutes with visible dye still coming out of it. I didn't see anything come out of the carrots but when I put them on the towel to dry it was bright orange where they sat. It has even dyed the palm of my hand orange and no amount of scrubbing could get it off. This made me worry about putting them back in the cage so I emailed Rosewood to ask what dyes were used. They replied "EU approved food colouring". This makes me feel a little better as I believe most of these are natural, other than the blue and the yellow. It did get me thinking that the packaging contains virtually no info on there about what we are putting in our hamsters mouths!!!!

Smaller than what i imagined
My Rabbits played with it for a few minutes and have lost interest. It does decorate their bed nice and can hide little treats in it for bed time. The carrots can be removed so the bunnies do like to throw these around on occasions to play.

Hamster loves it
Best toy/ nibble thing Iβve bought. Got it for my Syrian hamster and he loves it, I put the carrots back in the slots every day when heβs asleep and every night he carefully removes them and puts the in his food bowl. I hide little treats in the holes and he loves it. You can buy from Amazon spare carrots also which Iβve also bought. Perfect

Chinchillas don't like it
I put this in my chinchilla cage and although it looks cute when you first put it in, they don't get much use out of it. They chewed the green parts off the carrots within the first hour of putting it in their cage and haven't really touched it much since.Chinchillas tend to chew everything and anything they can reach, but my two boys have been defeated by three little wooden carrots. They haven't been able to actually chew the orange part at all. It's probably because they can't get a grip on the orange part because it's too large and too rounded for them to get their teeth in to or their tiny little paws around, which is why I'm put down 5 stars for sturdiness and 2 stars for value for money. The few times I've caught them trying to chew it, they end up rage quitting and chucking the carrot in a puddle of urine in a fit of apoplitic rage. I've never seen a chinchilla so full of anger than when he's going up against this little wooden carrot. Who knew that an animal so cute and fluffy as a chinchilla could feel so much thunderous rage? They do chew the brown shelf part occasionally, but seem to prefer other boredom breakers over this one. It's probably more suitable for other animals; for chinchillas, maybe go for something else or you'll probably end up with a rage-filled fluffball as a pet.

No interest from our fur babies
This item is a sturdy piece which is why i am giving it full stars.First one arrived on Thursday and my boy has no interest in the carrots, just the food from the circle.Placed one in my girls cage and she has no interest either, just the food.Makes a great lookout ledge if nothing else.
