An author to watch!
I bought both "Legacy on Trial" and "In Defense of Charolotte" for my mom and myself. My mom is a voracious reader to say the least. Her comments to me: "The man has a definite alternate career path ahead of him. I like his style better than Grisham. Anytime I am reading a book and am no longer sitting in this chair because I am inside the book and apart of their lives, it is a very well written book". She is not a book critic but she said what she is reading is excellent!

Excellent Storytelling!
I’ve been a fan of legal thrillers for a number of years and always enjoy starting a new series. It was fun getting to know these characters and exploring the ways their lives are connected. The story was engaging and each new piece of the plot kept me interested through each chapter. I’m looking forward to reading the next book!

Great read
Awesome debut novel from Joe Cargile. The story and characters are very entertaining. If you like John Grisham give this book a read. Ordered the second book the minute I finished this one.

EXCELLENT BOOK.
I honestly was unsure of this book. It’s not really my kind of thing to read but I have to admit that I was glued to this book. The author kept me on my toes. I didn’t see the twists coming. Can’t wait for the second book!!!!

Promising New Series
I enjoyed the plot line, the characters, and the way the author told the story. There were a couple of events that occurred to characters that I never quite understood why they happed and there was a couple of times not enough information was given to understand the significance of an event. I found the book interesting and a surprise revealed in the ending was unexpected, which I feel contributes to the enjoyment of a book. However, there were still several “loose ends” remaining after this book ended—maybe that is to encourage us to read the next installment of this series. I look forward to the next book in the Blake County Legal Thrillers series and maybe finding closure to those loose ends. I received an ARC of this book for my voluntary review and honest opinion.

Interesting.
This is an interesting legal thriller. The storyline has a lot going on, which keeps the reader engaged until the final unexpected conclusion. There isn’t a lot of in-depth character development, but there’s enough for readers to get a basic understanding of each character and what motivates them.I did struggle a bit with the writing style. There wasn’t much use of contractions during conversations which made those conversations seem stilted and unnatural. People just don’t talk that way.Fans of legal thrillers will find much to enjoy in this book and I am interested to see where the series goes.

A questionable legacy
A reputed lawyer, Jake Collins, who is the son of the Senator, is killed. His best friend, Lee Acker, is a suspect, especially because he leaves the country. Lee is trying to find out who is behind the murder and the reason why he is being framed? Will he be able to prove his innocence? A suspenseful thriller which exposes dark secrets of famous families. A page turner with an unexpected twist.
