Basic calligraphy, a great tutorial.

This is a high quality introduction to Copperplate with lots of opportunity for practice on the good quality paper.

Very pleased.
Nice. I have 4 books now and this one is nice because the pages are perforated so you can easily, if you wish to, remove them … especially nice for the practice pages which I removed and use with a light box (sold by Amazon for $10) and tracing paper (also sold by Amazon). I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 only because it duplicates the ‘how to’ of the older tomes, but that is not a bad thing if you don’t already have them.

Great intro
Very great intro to Copperplate Calligraphy. I love that the pages are perforated so that you can practice and have reference sheets next to you. Highly recommend this book if you are looking into starting!

Encouraging and thoughtful guide to copperplate
Christen Turney has written a methodical, straightforward, yet encouraging guide to help you learn copperplate calligraphy. I love how this book makes it clear that learning calligraphy takes loads of hard work and practice, but breaks everything down into manageable, easy to understand steps. The diagrams and graphics are clear and understandable. I love how she illustrates the process of pen manipulation with logical visuals. One of my favorite aspects are the exemplars identifying common mistakes (photo above). The tone of the book is so encouraging - beginners will feel empowered to begin their calligraphy journey using this book!
