Still for women
I used to love Levi's as a teen in the 70's early 80's. Back then, in my little town (as the song goes), there were only men's available. Though I've bought some women's over the years, and they fit okay, the fabric is thin and the choices limited. A lady at the bank was wearing some cute Levi's and she said they were men's. I was shocked, because she (and I) are not stick-like or manly figured, I'm a curvey if short lady. She said he'd bought them on Amazon, so I looked. This style and color (pinkish) caught my eye so I gave it a try as my first try-before-buy item.I am thrilled! This is that good old thick jean material I remember from my high-schools years. They fit perfectly though I'm a 28 not 27 anymore. No orange tag (sigh), but it takes a while for companies to catch (back) on. Also these are tapered, so for a woman they fill out nicely thought he pic guy looks baggy. Wish they came boot-cut but anyway, that nice thick material tells me these will last as long as my last pair, which was about 30 years. In short, don't forget to try men's if you like the material and color. Thank god for tried and true...luv my Levi's 4ever

Misleading product information
The jeans are fine; no complaints. My main complaint is that amazon has "100% cotton" listed for materials (at least on the Hawthorne color). That is incorrect. The tag inside the jeans indicates the materials are "99% cotton and 1% elastane." It's minor, I know, but some people are picky about jeans being only cotton. No issues with the jeans otherwise.

I’ve ordered these before and I always get exactly what I expect. Great fit and good quality.

Like the old 508, and good rigid wash
But this model if you're looking for a wider thigh and tapered leg!A few years back, if you wanted a wider thigh and a tapered leg (as opposed to the slim thigh straight leg styles of the 511/513) you'd buy the 508. Also, the 508 had the ridged washes, meaning they're indigo dyed and unwashed (might be Sanforized before dying, can't really know for sure with Levi's). Which is nice, because they're almost raw denim, at a nice 10 ish oz weight, which is okay for all around jeans ( a little thin for winter in the Midwest US).As compared to my old 508, these 502s in rigid envy are similar in rise, waist, thigh and taper. However, they're wider at the leg, by maybe 1/2" or a little more. They're about the same weight, same indigo dye, same weird smell at first too. I got the 508s at around $38, and these for about $42.Levies can be all over the place in terms of quality, depending on where you get them. The pair I received 28*32) is spot on for my size (28*30, the extra length is for those sweet stacks and cuffs lol), but the right leg is a little funky: it twists a bit so that the outseam rides closer to the middle of my foot rather than the outer part of my ankle. For that twist I took a star off. I would take another half star if I could for the light weight (10ish oz is about what you get with sub-$30 jeans, would've preferred to see 12 or 13oz).Overall a good pair of jeans, and Amazon's stock seems to avoid most of the horrible QC issues, if a little overpriced. Would recommend these as a daily pair and go-to for any casual situation sorta jean. Rocks that Americana look pretty hard.

502 v. 511
Maybe its too much time in the squat rack, too much time at the taco stand (or some combination of the two) - but my trusty 511's just were not giving me enough room to breath above the knee. I've always found Levi's to be a great value for the quality. My objective was to find a pair of jeans that gave the same slim look as the 511s, but with a bit more room in the thighs/butt. I tried a few different fits, but for me the 502 taper was the best. Essentially seems like these identical 511 below the knees but roomier up top. For reference, I have 42 inch hips and 24 inch quad measurements. These are still a nice slim fit, but not suffocating like my 511s were becoming. From a sizing perspective, I’ve always been a 34 x 30 in Levi and these were true to size.

Terrific combo of fit and lower leg taper - Size comparisons for most Levi models inside
I love this cut of jeans...if you are a guy that has well a typical guys body then these are terrific. I have these in size 40x30 and provides a great balance between the 511 and 501. I like that it sits below my gut without having the dreaded crotch sag that the 501 will do if you pants do not stay up...they taper is perfect for men..if you want to be a 140lb country male candybutt singer then these are not for you. You still like like a man wearing these and not some dude trying to look cool going to a yoga class. The only downside is that the back can seem a little low...I believe that is a product of my love handles and forcing them down however a little more rise in the back would be welcome.Again I can not comment how these will fit thinner people but for a 6ft 250lb guy these are great.Size references I wear:501 Shrink to Fit 42x32501 40x30502 40x30505 40x30508 42x30511 42x30(terrific fitting and not too slim in 42x30 but in 40x30 they are like skinny jeans...and I look like a muffin in them)514 42x30The thing with Levi's as we all know is no two pair of the same model and size fit the same- also always pay attention to if it is 100% cotton or not

Rigid Envy jeans shrink in the dryer!
Be forewarned - these jeans (the rigid envy) shrink - a lot. I bought a 34 length and after washing and drying them, they shrunk an inch and a half. In fact I purchased a pair earlier and sent them back because when they arrived they were advertised as being made out of unwashed cotton. I figured they would shrink so back they went. Then I got on Amazon and asked if there was a shrinkage problem with these particular jeans if I put them in the dryer and was assured by three people they would not. Re-ordered them, washed and dried them, and they came up really short. I'm going to wash them again and try to stretch them out while wet and then just hang dry them to see if they can be redeemed. Anyway, I gave them three stars because they look good, but there should be a shrinkage warning attached to them. Ok - I am adding to my comments. I washed them again, stretched them a little, and hung them to dry and they fit again. So go ahead and machine wash them - just don't put them in the dryer! I'm adding a star.

Seems cheap.
Levi’s seems to be cheaping out on these Amazon sold jeans. Definitely lower quality than usual.

I tried other brands but always go back to Levi
Perfect fit. I have to make one small complaint that the denim is not like 20 - 30 years ago. It is less durable and will wear faster than usual. My jeans under normal wear will only last about 18 - 24 months before the knees rip.

No red Levi’s tag on pant.
And there is no red Levi’s tag on the back of the pant. Makes me wonder if it is truly a Levi’s Jean and not a knock off.
