Ozeki Premium Junmai Sake, 75 cl & Hakutsuru Junmai Nigori Sayuri Sake 300 ml

bought this for my guest as a gift and he loved it! taste nice, good value!

Since I moved to the countryside I don't get to Japanese supermarkets like I used to in London, so being able to get decent Sake delivered and at the same cost as going to a store is a godsend.

I see a few reviews saying this tasted like bitter vodka. This type os sake is what is known as a Fustsu-shu, meaning that it is a value sake, what makes a sake a junmai? It is the rice content, in order to qualify as a junmai it has to be 100% rice, meaning that distiller's alcohol can not be added in the process, which is what the lower range sake has in it to save money on production costs.For what you pay this sake is decent, not very complex and quite dry with some bitterness from the distiller's alcohol, that is why it is best to drink this one warm or use it for making tare and chashu pork for ramen. If you want premium then be prepared to pay the price of a bottle of whisky for it, as milling and making refined sake is a very expensive process.

Got this for cooking karaage chicken then thought I'd try it. It's quite tasty out of the fridge, at first I was reminded of strong, cheap alcohol like counterfeit vodka (yeah) but then the taste changes and it's mellow and a little sweet, so I need to buy another bottle or just cooking sake, I really won't drink that so I'll still have it next time I make karaage chicken and the next, etc. The chicken marinated in this aswell as other things was really, really tasty btw.

(only tried chilled, warm)If you are looking for a first time purchase. be aware that as a flavour it is very bitter and has a smell like strong larger when cold.Not nearly as bitter, more along a white wine taste when heated.Both temperatures, It is very dry and has an after burn/warmth. If that is what you are after then happy days...If not you may want to try a different brand or nigori (sweet and cloudy), or maybe one mixed with a fruit juice.But great value for the size of the bottle.

This sake was a great affordable option for sake lovers in the UK like myself,but recently the price increased by 30% over the last month, now it's cheaper to get it in store!

This Is among the cheapest sakes on Amazon. As a new comer it was a no brainer. No sellers in the area I live. This stuff is amazing..I want 6 bottles and I want to start then around 1pm and casually drink them all day.1st few cups are kinda like..wtf. then you adjust and it smooth, warming and the buzz is just right. Couple this with a traditional sake set and you're one distinguished mf. At least in my eyes.Does it make me want to try the more expensive sake? Yes. Will I rush to do so? No. If you're considering trying sake, this is a safe bet according to a noob.Order and enjoy. I do t want to see this going out of stock

This is one of the cheaper sake drinks you can get, but it is still a lovely drink.
