Outsize vs V8 vs Animal 2 Upright
I’ll start off with I went from Shark to Dyson a few years ago, and I’ll never go back. There’s just no comparison. This is my first cordless vacuum, I had the animal 2 upright, and the brush stopped rolling so we hopped on a Black Friday deal for the cordless to try something different. We also purchased the V8 to see which one we liked better. The V8 was good, it’s a smaller frame and was lighter, had good suction but not as strong as the Outsize, and the handle was more uncomfortable at the base of my thumb. The Outsize has stronger suction, is heavier but more comfortable for your hand. So between the V8 and the Outsize, Outsize won and we returned the V8 (V8 did do a good job and is a nice cordless btw). Between the upright that we had and the cordless experience, there’s a lot of pros and cons between the two. Overall suction, upright is gonna win. However, the Outsize suction is still amazing. We have a German shepherd and 2 long haired cats and Outsize is keeping up with the fur and dander no problem at all. In fact, because of the ease of vacuuming with a cordless I find myself vacuuming more often, so I think the fur and dander is actually less than before with the upright. The battery life isn’t bad at all. We have a 2200 sq ft house, downstairs is all hardwood with some area rugs and upstairs is all carpet. I can vacuum the entire house on one fully charged battery if it’s just a quick, once over keeping up kind of vacuuming and not thorough deep cleaning vacuuming. If it’s a thorough deep cleaning vacuuming, including using attachments and taking more time, I probably have to charge once in between floors. Using on area rugs and carpet uses more battery because it requires stronger suction, and upping the suction power drains it pretty quickly. I leave it on the auto suction and it works perfectly fine, I’ve used it on the stronger setting I think two times, more so to see the difference in suction. On carpet it does a perfectly good job. You’re gonna get decent carpet lines, not as deep as the upright did, but enough that you know it’s doing a good job. The attachments aren’t as good and strong as the upright, they work better on the strongest suction setting, that’s the only bummer of this cordless in my opinion. Also we have a roomba robot vacuum and I’ll be getting rid of that now, having a cordless is just as easy in my opinion, and does a better job. Lastly, it’s pretty quiet! We have a toddler and a baby and can easily run the vacuum during nap time and don’t have to worry that it’s going to wake them up, they don’t budge. Overall, we love this purchase and will probably stick with cordless over upright moving forward.

Impressive!
We have a Dyson V6 that has been awesome for us for many many years, but we really wanted a second one so there was a vacuum upstairs and one downstairs. I saw this Outsize in person at a warehouse store and knew this would be the one we wanted as the bigger size would speed up the process. The size difference it pretty crazy but it's good. Yes it heavier but it's well balanced. The wall mounting system is 100 times better. We can go much longer without needing to empty the bin and the anti hair function works perfectly. We vacuumed our entire house and not a single hair got wrapped around the head. Serious game changer right there. I do wish the head had a light on it but I got an idea with a usb light strip and tiny power bank (update to come). As for sound it has a dual tone to it with the sound of the head motor at a very muffled low frequency and the actual vacuum fan more of a high frequency jet engine (minus the volume). Certainly not unpleasant but still you can't watch TV with it going on in the background. I prefer the sound of the Outsize over our existing V6 as it is slightly quieter. We've never been disappointed with the power of the vacuum our V6 or now our new Outsize... It just does a great job for our 90% carpet floored house. And lastly the quick release battery is a great bonus. That said there really isn't any reason for us to have multiple batteries. I know in a 3-4yrs when the battery starts to fade it will be a quick and easy replacement. In summary it's expensive but you are getting a quality product.

Extremely powerful durable, long lasting strong, great for pets, but a little heavy
This vacuum is a fantastic investment. I bought mine two years ago and it is still going strong! We have four dogs for kids and a ton of messes and this is the best vacuum I’ve ever used in my entire life. The only drawbacks are that it is heavy and I don’t like that you have to hold the button down to keep it vacuuming. But I love how powerful it is. I love that it’s cordless and it’s really easy to maneuver. Once in a while, it will get something stuck in it, but it’s very easy to clean out. Recommend this thing 1000/10.

Good vacuum but…
I purchased the Dyson to replace a cordless I have had for 5 years . The vacuum is staying with me to do it’s job. Here are the pros. It is lightweight, had long battery life and has plenty of suction. Works well on hard floors. Fits under most furniture. The extra large head is amazing. Cheaper here than at Costco. The cons. It will not move across a large area rug on any setting except low. It will not pick up dirt or debris unless your moving forward, if you back over said debris it just gets stuck behind vacuum head. The finger trigger must be held down at all times. I feel like it could use a trigger lock. This however could be a safety think??

too expensive to break so soon
UPDATE: this thing is awful! have had it just over a year and it barely works. pushes around dust and hair. does not suck up much on hard wood floor and the head is DISGUSTING and no way to clean(photo) i will never ever purchase dyson again and i hope no one wastes their hard earned money on this crappy company either! avoid! update: a few months after writing this review, this vacuum does not pick up anything as well anymore. pushes around and any hair gets stuck behind the head in back and then even after going over again, it wont pick up. this is way too expensive for such a crappy machine. as stated before. NEVER AGAIN got this a few months ago and here are my thoughts pros- sucks well. which is what it is supposed to do. charges fairly quickly. battery lasts a good hour for hardwood and about 45ish minutes for carpet on the eco mode. it being cordless is nice so i dont have to always plug in and worry about a cord. cons- VERY HEAVY. like it hurts to vacuum long. you have to hold down the trigger to power it on and use it. no light to see what you are vacuuming. taking off the stick to empty container is very tricky. can NOT vacuum rugs, only very low pile. also, the ball already broke on the side as shown in picture. for how expensive these vacuums are, im disappointed. never getting another dyson again

Best vacuum I've ever used
I have been putting off getting a vacuum for a long time because I have fear of better options - and I couldnt seem to commit to a brand or vacuum. So we had a cheap Walmart vac but that finally broke and I have two fluffy dogs, so I needed to figure it out. I finally decided to get a Dyson. But then which Dyson should I get? Well I ended up deciding on the outsize. Partially because of the size and I also heard it came with an extra battery. This package does NOT come with an extra battery which is disappointing because everywhere online claims all outsize models do. I am not sure why this package does not, but it was pretty clear to me that it wasn't coming with one based on the listing - so obviously no issue for me here. Just worth mentioning, still. Like I said, I have two fluffy dogs and a small house. I fill this thing up at least twice while cleaning. So I am glad I got the outsize. It is a little heavy but I am used to heavy vacs - this is my first real stick vac, so I don't even know what to compare it to in regards to size. I did end up buying a hose extension for it. I feel it will give me more freedom to reach things easier This thing has drastically changed my life. As dramatic as that sounds. I've had it a week and I've been on cleaning sprees (which is much needed in my house tbh). I used this to clean my chinchillas cage which is always a chore for me that I put off far longer than I should - this vacuum made it simple! Though I need to be careful with the hay - because I did clog it (just the stick, not the vacuum). But I was 100% testing the capability and didn't expect it to do well (though I am impressed with how it did). Either way, I am impressed with the smart portion of this too. It will tell you if the airway is blocked or if the canister is too full. I can talk about it all day. If you're on the fence - this is the one. You can stop looking! Get it!

Great for vacuuming hair and not getting caught in the bristles
Had this for a year or so and absolutely love it. I don’t know what engineering magic they did to finally solve the issue of not getting hair wrapped around the head, but I am hear for it (even my old Dyson’s I had to get down there and cut and clean hair out of the bristles). The charge lasts a long time and picks up just about anything I throw at it. I use on tile floors and hallways and am totally content. Mounting it on the wall was fairly straight forward and makes it so convenient to grab and put away so it’s always charged when you need it. Only two gripes, but not deal breakers: 1) you have to hold the trigger for it to engage - there is no constant on/off switch which sometimes makes my hand tired (although it is really sensitive so you don’t have to pull the trigger hard). 2) hard to set down as it doesn’t have any structure to hold it up - even leaning it against a wall or corner can be precarious and it’s likely to fall over.

Convenient and great suction.
UPDATE. Almost 2 years in and it has stopped charging and one of the “wheels” came off and the only option for repair is to buy the whole head for $40ish Starting to become disappointed that this very expensive vacuum is failing so soon. We live in the country and have very hair dogs that are always dragging dirt, weeds, sand etc. into the house. This is the best vacuum I’ve owned so far. Being cordless makes it very convenient to grab and to a small area quickly when necessary. I stays charged when doing a full house clean and the container is large enough to do the whole how before needing to be emptied. Highly recommended.

Excelente compra
