A broader understanding of Bruce Lee’s real fights
It goes without saying that Bruce Lee’s era was very different from now. In his time period there wasn’t MMA or full contact tournaments. But that didn’t stop martial artists from testing themselves against one another. John Littles book details Bruce Lee’s real fights. Fights that would lead the Little Dragon down the path of functionality and practicality, where he would draw anything useful from any style or system. Eastern or western in origin it didn’t matter. If it worked for you it was yours. This approach gave him the edge in realistic situations of real danger. It becomes obvious to the reader that Bruce was the real deal during his time period. His successful film career and early death propelled him to the status of a legend. It’s no wonder that he became known as the father of Mixed Martial Arts. A very enjoyable read!

Insightful book, slightly fan-boyish
Great book with some interesting stories. There is no doubt a lot of what is written is truthful but you can’t help but wonder at times about authenticity off the facts due to John’s overtly obvious fanboyism for all things Bruce Lee. This is coming from a lifelong Lee fan and practioner of JKD.

Good book
Finished it in a few nights. Interesting and historical. The accounts of Bruce fighting are all pretty consistent when describing his attributes ; phenomenal timing, speed, and evasiveness (among other things). Bruce was the real deal (I never really doubted that). Also comes with an electronic version if you follow the instructions in the book.

Was Lee A Great Fighter? Now We Have The Answer.
I've been a life long fan of Bruce Lee, but it's just like John (the author) says. Seeing Lee move, we saw something special on screen, but as the years went on, we weren't too sure about our own conclusions anymore. I mean, Lee wasn't exactly a heavyweight, weighing in at around 135 lbs, and there's the fact that he hadn't been in too many documented official competition fights. Getting older makes you more of a skeptic, I guess. But after hearing John out on a YouTube interview I was listening to, and how he clearly (and decisively) debunked part of the post Wong Jack-Man narrative, I decided I just had to go and buy this book. And boy, let me tell you, I'm glad I bought it. John did the research, and every time he describes a fight, it's as if you're right there with Bruce, watching him go at it. He paints a picture each time, he really does. The amount of research here, by the way, is just incredible. He didn't just make stuff up, he actually shows his source material - and there's pages and pages of it.So, if you want to know if Bruce Lee was a great fighter, go read this book!

Totally Engrossing
I'm only part way through but find I it very hard to put down. The amount of detail, the mammoth supporting research and the captivating writing style make this book an absolute must-have for any Bruce Lee or JKD aficionado.Without intending to be picky I just wish it was in a slightly larger format with more photo's, But hey, it still a 10 out of 10.Thank you, Mr Little.
