Great for juicers.
Easy to use, easy to clean and inexpensive. I don't ferment vegetables but I've been juicing vegetables for over four years. After more than a day or two in the fridge it can taste "stale". My juice now tastes "fresh" after a week. I now juice once or twice a week instead of almost every day.

Works Well, Makes Your Job A Lot Easier
I purchased this set of fermentation lids and pump, and when I got them the pamphlet was scant on how to use them. An email to the seller elicited a really helpful response as well as an assurance the listing and pamphlet would be updated asap with clear instructions.How-to: I put my contents in the jar, put the red lid and my metal ring on, placed the pump on top of the lid and gave it one or two pumps. (Pull up, remove, push pump back in, place back on center of lid, pull up again, remove. You should feel some resistance as you pull up.)Example: Pictured from left to right is a strawberry shrub in live vinegar on left, fermenting/pickling radish, and fermenting spiced apples. I didn’t use glass weights. There was no mold on top. They fermented from 6-9 days very actively and there was no bubbling over, no mess. Easy!My one negative: If you’re fermenting sour kraut, kimchi, radish or other cruciferous vegetables, they’re going to stink up whatever area you put them in. WHEW!!! I ended up moving my radish jar to a cardboard box and put in a closet and my whole apartment still for 9 days smelled like a Korean grandma’s kitchen at mealtime 🙂🙂

This is OK for the price, but there are better options for a bit more money.
This is a thin plastic disc with a very small "rubber band" type gasket around the outside edge and a rubber compression valve in the middle. The outside gasket is dislodged easily, and the disc MUST be used with the standard metal ring screw common to mason jars. The setup is a bit finicky, but once in place it does hold a seal.I have NOT used this to ferment sauerkraut yet. I have used this to reduce the pressure (a very light vacuum) on ground coffee. The instructions say to only do 2-3 pumps, which does pull some air out of the container, but does not remove nearly as much as I'd like. When I tried to remove more air by further pumping, the gasket around the edge failed and let air in (with a balloon-like squeak). So this seems to be the reason they say to only use 2-3 pumps. The other, single self-contained, fermentation/vacuum lid has a much larger gasket, a solid and secure lid, and lets me pull much more air out of the container - providing a much better vacuum seal.I would be fine with this being advertised as an air-lock product, with usefulness limited to fermenting. I think that it would function adequately for that. I take issue with this product's description saying that it is good for dry storage vacuum sealing. IMHO this would not be the case.

Good items, even better seller
These lids are good quality. Since I'm new to the "fermentation/kimchi game", I was a bit unsure of how to make kimchi safely and effectively. So I decided to contact seller regarding how to make good kimchi (honestly wasn't expecting a thorough response) and Alex INSTANTLY responded hack to me with a full written recipe and description on how THEY use THEIR OWN products! This shows the seller not only sells their products but also uses them and cares for their customers.

Great vacuum seal. No failures!
I bought these, ran one round of ferments with them. Those ferments went amazingly well, no failures and due to the lack of oxygen I was able to reduce my brine to 2% salt which increased my fermentation speed. I like how even without the metal lid ring on they will vacuum down to the jar! Two weeks later I ordered another set after being so satisfied with the first.

Good for storing juice as well.
Works perfectly for preserving fresh juice. I make my juice, pour it in mason jars, pump out the air to avoid oxidation of the juice, store in the fridge, and then drink when I am ready. Just what I am looking for. I am trying to find out if I can buy extra lids. I would like more.

Makes Fermentation Easy
I've been doing a lot of fermentation using the Nourished Essential Easy Fermentation lid. That one is one big piece, it has a marker built in to keep track of dates, and a place to put your thumb to open easily. This one is simpler. It has what looks like the same airlock valve, and comes with an identical pump. It uses the ring top that comes with wide mouth canning jars to hold it in place. It works as well. I feel guilty, because I get a ton of information from the Nourished Essential web site and facebook page, but these inexpensive lids were hard to pass up.

As effective as more expensive brands
These lids are great! They're not bulky like some other airlock lids, and are easy to store. My ferments are turning out great, for a fraction of the cost of more expensive brands.

Do not buy - did not work
Not much good - while pumping out air vacuum broken by poor seals - do not buy - tried to return them but postage more than the value of the goods!

Not so great for refrigerated storage
I tried these for storing jerky in jars in the frig. They are a little finicky to center but not a big deal. They sealed up fine on the counter but later when I pulled the jar from the frig I found there was no longer a seal. Figured this was my bad so I tried again...and again. Just couldn't get them to hold a seal in the frig. I have hopes that they will work at room temperature...I will try that soon.

Not so good.
The seal around the edge is very finicky and if it is not on perfectly the suction doesn't work. I had to reset the seal several times each time I opened them to check during fermentation even though it seemed the seal was properly set around the very thin edge. Also, when you suck the air out, it pulls the liquid into the reverse-pump and I'm not sure I got it clean when I washed it. I won't be using these. Just using the regular canning lids and not screwing the band on too tight worked much better but they do leak a bit so I'm going to try the silicone ones with the nipple in the top next.
