Problems initially encountered proving to be great CCTV
When I purchased this CCTV system I was a bit sceptical about it's claims with regard to the coverage of the WiFi cameras. I had returned other manufacturers CCTV sets because they did not work. My house while modern is quite big and I just could not get the range required to cover my garage and other points I wanted. When I set up the system in my living room to make sure it was working OK it was simplicity itself. I then moved my cameras to the required position and tried them, I just could not get them to work properly and the WiFi forwarding did not seem to make any difference. I then contacted Corsee support via whatsapp and had an almost immediate response from Nomasher. Nomasher walked through some simple diagnostics with me before informing me that the forwarding was not working properly and I needed to return it for a replacement. Though I was disappointed by the return, I have since received my replacement system and have got to say the the technical support received from Corsee has been exceptional. My system is working superbly and the WiFi camera signal forwarding is a feature that has made this CCTV system stand out from the rest as I was about to give up on getting any WiFi CCTV working reliably for my home. My disappointment with my original CCTV system supplied has been forgotten about, due to the great service I recieved from Corsee. I would recommend this system to anyone wanting a simplet to set up CCTV that can cover a large area.

Images are good, functionality is clunky
Review Of Corsee CCTV System----------------------------Summary-------This review has been written mainly from notes made while setting up the system and then massaged to improve readability. Not entirely successfully! Some aspects of the system were untried and therefore not commented upon, for example the camera wireless forwarding, the additional booster aerial or the camera ethernet cable interface.ProsThe package I received contained all the components as advertised.Physically the system is robust and the cameras appear to be weather resistant.Customer support and response time is, well, amazing!Video quality from cameras and as stored on the NVR is good. The system is well suited for monitoring distant and/or less accessible parts of your premises in real time. The NVR can store the video streams from all cameras. The system can generate email alerts, a video marker or a beep when an event is detected.Consemail alerts may not work with your ISP.It is not easy to test the global internet access to the system using a browser on a PC or Android device. The system configuration and setup is clumsy and restrictive.Motion triggering is erratic in operation.Finding a specific recorded event is difficult and time consuming.Details-------The cameras are robust, solidly constructed with metal cases and mounts. They require only simple diy skills to install and require only a single cable for the power supply. In my case I extended the power cables to get a good siting.email alerts may not work with your ISP.A workaround is to use another email provider that supports third party access, I used gmail.Motion triggering is erratic.I have four cameras and I am still trying to achieve a sensible balance between false triggers and capturing useful events.Finding a specific recorded event is difficult.Recording is done in files of one hour duration. The files can be reviewed but only in real time. The viewing can be paused for inspection but when play is resumed it starts from the file beginning. There is no forward or backward skimming or speed control. The files can be offloaded for viewing or conversion for use in a more flexible application. The offload takes about 15 minutes for one file, so I hope you have the right one.Corsee are trying very hard to provide a useful and responsive support service.Given the time zone and language differences the response by Corsee to my queries has been simply amazing. Thanks to 'Nomasher' for helping me through my various problems. All my communications were conducted using email via the Amazon contact seller mechanism.I sent my first email about email alerts very early one morning.I had a reply by 11:00 the same day!Several other queries have been responded to in less than a day (minus weekends). The video is very clean and toggles between day and night mode as it should. There is also some hysteresis to reduce toggling back and forth at twilight.Recording also appears to work, though this is after only a very short time of using the system.Alerts via email initially did not work. This is partly due to the email smtp server provided by my ISP (Talktalk) not supportinga suitable protocol. This is now working via a gmail address 'downgraded' security wise to allow third parties to send emails.A second facet of this problem required a firmware upgrade of the Corsee NVR.This facility is now working satisfactorily.Being 'wireless' only applies to the cameras *NOT* the connection to your router. The NVR requires direct cable connection to your router or via a switch. The system being 'online' or 'offline' simply means the ethernet cable is in (and configured) or unplugged. There is no way to power down from the gui. The best is to 'logout' and with the system still running at this point turn off the power.Initially I could not login to "p2p.corsee.com" using my id/username/password.There are two layers to this problem The first is that the manual shows where to view and note down the NVR serial number. Then to use this as the Corsee ID when logging in remotely. The problem is that the serial number displayed is of the form 'NS123123456789'.If this is entered verbatim into the login panel the web software crashes and sprays source code over the screen!Later reading this source code I notice a line which says 'not a number'So I try again using the SN without the NS prefix leaving just numerals. The web does not crash this time but rejects the number as an incorrect ID.Somewhere else in the NVR GUI screens I noticed another ID this is similar to the serial number but shorter again. So I removed the first three digits from the serial number and lo and behold I am in.Success is short lived however as the system is "unable to connect to the device".It is not easy to test the global internet access to the system using a browser on a PC or Android device.I cannot do remote viewing of my own cameras via the global interface on my three PCs, XP, Win7 and Win 10.Asking remote friends and family to test my system resulted in a very patchy availability. Some major companies restrict the sites which can be visited so you may not be able to view your home from your workplace for example.Other domestic customers on the same ISP cannot necessarily view the video and are presented with the correct page but no login fields.Remote access via a browser or android device appears to work for only a few cases. There may be a configuration issue here eg opening port access on the router. There is nothing in the slim manual which suggests this.I am still working on this aspect.Late update:With the diligent support from Corsee I was able to remote view my local site via p2p.corsee.com.I used Internet Explorer 11 on a (borrowed) Win7 pc and this worked, finally. The three other computers I normally use could not do this, Win XP(is not supported), Win 10 where the 'Edge' browser (is not supported) andon my Win 7 pc it refuses to allow Internet Explorer to be setup. only Internet Explorer is supported. So if like me you prefer other browsers you are snookered. The system configuration and setup is clumsy and restrictive. The system setup and any reconfiguration can be done using the mouse and monitor directly connected to the NVR.The hand held remote appears not to allow entry of passwords. It may allow XY type navigation of the displayed keyboard but on my monitor thehighlighted orange is hardly any different from the non highlighted orange. From a practical point of view this is unusable. Why not highlight in a contrasting colour?I gave up trying this very early as it was so difficult. So believe it or not it is therefore easier use the mouse to navigate where at least the pointer is visible. Why cannot the usb port accept a keyboard???. It is a Linux OS after all.It may be possible to use an Android device to configure the system.None of the five mobiles (family, friends and myself) were able to access the NVR either using the local IP address or globallyusing the internet address via "p2p.corsee.com".Only one out of four family members and Corsee themselves were able to view my video remotely. Most of the settings can be viewed using a browser accessing via the local network IP address. Not all of the settings can be changed through this interface howeverThere is no telnet access to the NVR. Actually there is but it is not accessible to the user.I could not find a factory reset. So make sure you have recorded at least your admin password. ( :-o--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------20/05/2020 - Update. The lockdown is now in effect and I thought my ageing relatives might like to visit my garden via the security cameras. In summary the previous good and bad points remain but have become even more polarised.PROS: The recorder function has been running continuously with video reliably added to the hard disk. I rarely access the data however because of the difficulties in finding and viewing the video. See previous commentsThe NVR and my four cameras continue to work. I can view the stream(s) on a monitor connected directly to the NVR.CONS: Everything else! No remote viewing on any device PC, laptop or phone. Detections occur but no alerts are sent. As a security system it is useless. To be fair it would seem that the desired functionality is out of reach at this price level. The problems appear to be common across all makers and all devices judging by other reviews. For example the alerts system when triggered then captures the next frame but NOT the event video frame. To work properly the system would need to store a sequence of video buffers and send the appropriate buffer associated with the alert.Does any affordable system do this!

A first class product with excellent technical support.
This Corsee product does everything it says on the box. Clear images with good playback and capture facilities. Flexible remote access via smartphone, tablet or laptop in addition to base access through monitor (not supplied} Initially had a problem with image loss which was thought to be a software issue and the support staff worked tirelessly in an attempt to resolve the problem - despite the time difference between the UK and Hong Kong they were in daily contact. Eventually a hardware issue was diagnosed and a replacement NVR was despatched immediately and more follow-up support was provided to guide me through the re-installation process. Everything is now working perfectly and I would certainly recommend this as an efficient low cost cctv system backed up with superb after-sales support.

11 Months system gradually failing, probably go in the bin soon !
Had this Kit 11 months initially seemed quite well made and went together intuitively, including connecting to IPADS and PC's. Manual a total waste of time. Many features in the software don't work, signal forwarding is a total myth and the remote aerial a waste of time. Camera distance from the base unit "NVR" 20 - 30 feet absolute max and less with brick walls and weather. Setting detection sensitivity and area is pointless. If you lose signal to a camera for any reason getting it back can be a very complex process if powering off or rebooting doesn't bring the system back to life. Adding a spare or extra camera can be nightmare even if the instructions are followed implicitly due to potential IP address clashes. So far 2 cameras have failed, Corsee responded in meaningless pigeon English and any warranty problems are continually fended off this way, along with equally meaningless software updates until you give up !

Excellent definition, good after sales service
Corsee, the makers after sales service is excellent. There was an error in the original order and my queries were answered without delay in a very amicable and friendly manner. The refund for the incorrect unit was done immediately by Amazon. The installation is straightforward and the quality of image is very good. I would say, do download the instructions from the website as the booklet images of the screen are not clear. In all, very satisfied. Easy to add another camera if needed. Take care positioning the furthest cameras and one can 'piggy back' to get better reception. Very good product.
