Very cool and fun to watch
The media could not be loaded. I was intrigued by the idea of a 'floating' plant, so I had to check it out and see how it worked. It's pretty straightforward to set up; just plug in the power supply then carefully hold the pot in place an inch or so above the pedestal and let it go.It's just a little tricky to get it the first time, but once you get the feel for it it's not difficult. Only thing is, if you get too far off center it'll abruptly jump to the side and stick to the magnets in the base. It'll do the same if power is disconnected. But, once floating, it's very stable and just sits there as if by magic. You can give it a spin, or just leave it and it'll slowly rotate on its own. There are some warnings in the instructions; not to place it near other electronics, bank cards, and people with a pacemaker. It makes sense given that it must put out a fairly strong magnetic field to suspend the pot and its contents. I imagine it would probably erase audio and video tapes if they got too close also. It's a great conversation piece, nice looking, and very unique. I got the one with the dark brown base, and while it's obviously plastic, the finish is such that it resembles real wood fairly well and is not at all cheap looking.

Affordable "hovering" plant stand
I have been obsessed with these since I saw something similar at my local nursery. I just couldn't justify spending that money on something, then I saw this. I LOVE this. Everyone that sees it says it looks awesome and my youngest is obsessed with it.Now for the cons:- I don't see how you could put anything other than air plants in it. That was always my intention, but if you purchased this for a succulent (even if small), I'm afraid it would make it too unbalanced and it would be knocked off too easily. This is the case with all of these I've seen (verified with the nursery), but I thought I would add this note since it says it can be used for succulents.- The "wood" of the base is obviously just covering on some plastic or something. Upon close inspection, it looks fake, but people are more distracted by the HOVERING PLANT to notice.- Be careful when putting the pot in place to hover. My youngest kept messing with it and now my base has white indentations from where the STRONG magnets slammed the pot to the base. They aren't too bad, but I thought that this should be included.Overall, this thing is awesome and our family loves it. It is pricy, but for right now, it seems much more affordable than what I can get locally.
