Fantastic book
I bought this after getting the world book day mini book. It is absolutely fantastic, enough information to keep children interested and learning without getting bogged down with information overload. Fantastic visuals make this a pleasure to share with children

Wonderful book!
I’m a science teacher and keen to give my own children as much science in their lives as possible!! This is a wonderful book, really nicely put together with lovely illustrations. I’ve three children and this was given to my 8 year old (eldest) I’m happy that it’s hardback as it will be passed along in our house. This will be around for years to come!! Would 100% recommend!!

The colours of the rainbow and way beyond…’a collection of scientific facts about colour’
Learn ‘why a monkey’s bright red bottom is much more important that you may think’ (giggle, giggle)...and oodles of other things besides, some quite technical! The current stock images and 👀'LOOK INSIDE’ facility above give an idea of the content to see if it is the level for you & yours. From the back cover of the copy I received (image below refers):🦩~‘HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED HOW flamingos BECOME PINK?WHY octopuses HAVE BLUE BLOOD?OR WHY SOME flames BURN GREEN?Join planetary scientist Dr Sheila Kanani on a ride through the rainbow in this fact-filled adventure into all things colourful, from tiny iridescent insects to the ‘blue moon’.You’ll learn all about the unique way that hippos keep cool, why gold is useful in space and why a monkey’s bright-red bottom is much more important than you may think!Bursting with incredible illustrations and some seriously cool science, this book will transform the way you see the world ~ in full colour.’~🐙ooOoo~ TITLE: CAN YOU GET RAINBOWS IN SPACE?: A COLOURFUL COMPENDIUM OF SPACE AND SCIENCE~ AUTHOR: DR SHEILA KANANI~ ILLUSTRATOR: LIZ KAY~ PUBLISHER: PUFFIN~ 2023Measuring around 20 cm x 26 cm, the thick, shiny finish hardboard cover opens to 125 good quality, matte finish pages, numbered for the best part, split over the 7 colours of the rainbow in terms of the first main SECTIONS, namely:~ RED~ ORANGE~ YELLOW~ GREEN~ BLUE~ INDIGO & VIOLET...followed by ‘BEYOND THE RAINBOW’.The final section links neatly back to where we started, with the title of the book:~ ‘SO, CAN YOU GET RAINBOWS IN SPACE?’Colourful in the layout generally, each section opens with a double-page spread, the edges of the right-hand pages with a relevant coloured band. Each colour opens with ‘AT A GLANCE’.Well-bound, lying obediently open at the chosen pages with good ‘across-spine’ use, the main information is presented in chunks with clear headings. Along with gems of all sorts, ‘DID YOU KNOW?’ snippets are dotted around. On the slightly negative side, for me, there is no index, which is a shame if you are looking for a specific such as ‘colour-blindness’, but there are handy cross-references to other pages for more information, where relevant. Also, the fonts are a touch small in places, I feel, notably those in white on a coloured background.Having said all of that, it packs a great deal in and ends with a handy 4-page GLOSSARY, just ahead of ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.30 images attached © Dr Sheila Kanani, Liz Kay, Emma Wells (Design ~ Studio Nic&Lou) + Penguin Random House Children’s/2023

Great Book
My 8 year old son loves this book. Usually I have to actively encourage him to read but this one grabbed his attention from the start and he stayed with it right to the end. Educational but not stuffy and serious, perfect for kids around his age.
