Macbook Pro A1398 Battery Replacement for 15-inch (Mid 2015,Mid 2014,Late 2013) Retina A1494/A1618 Battery

This is for an older model MacBook, not the easiest to install (thanks for all that adhesive, Apple!) but I only wish this seller was around 5+ years ago. Asmark don't shout about it, but they actually honour a 2 year warranty with their batteries. This is unequalled. I have been buying and installing batteries like this one for my clients for 10+ years, and have not yet found this combination of quality vs value vs customer support vs warranty in any other seller. This battery performs as it should (very good battery life, not a single complaint), at a fraction of the Apple replacement cost, and with a longer warranty! Bravo Asmark. Installation is not to be taken lightly, but the necessary tools are all there, and if you don't have the isopropyl alcohol Asmark have even offered to refund $10 to cover that cost (and have done for all of my orders so far). Not 'easy' to fit, but if done carefully and with a firm, confident hand, you'll be fine. Arrives well packaged and complete with all necessary tools and easy to follow instructions. Only issue is that the instruction text is in a small font so not so easy to read. Other than that, a good product and relatively easy to fit. The biggest issue was unsticking the old battery from the case, after which installation of the new battery was very quick.

The battery pack came in nice packing with all needed accessories. The only thing missing was the alcohol for which they paid me back $10. But on hind sight I think some nail polish remover could do as well. The instruction manual is very good along with video. I followed the video and was able to replace the battery easily. The cautions in the video were precise and helped me take care of other parts while trying to remove the old battery pack which is glued. My original battery had bulged up and it was pushing the keyboard upwards. Now it is all back to normal. It is a very good product for the given price.

This is the second time I've replaced the battery in this old mid 2015 MacBook Pro after the last Chinese battery died after 14 months and a mere 33 cycles. This Asmark branded one has a 24 month warranty, so hopefully it'll last longer. The actual battery feels good quality, though the battery board itself is a little lumpy and bumpy and looks a bit lower quality than the rest of it. Everything needed to carry out the battery replacement is included except isopropanol for removing the adhesive tape that holds the old battery in place, though there's the usual thank you card in the box that's offering $10? compensation via email to cover the cost of that if needed apparently. Being as I repair electronics as a hobby this battery was fairly straightforward to fit after removing the old dead one that had two swollen cells. The included scraper came in handy for cleaning up any old leftover adhesive tape I soaked in isopropanol. The only real issue I had was bending the wires on the plug to get it to fit, it was stiffer than the video makes it look in my case. All working fine and nice to see the old MacBook power up again. Only time will tell how good the battery is. But in all, good value (actually cost less than the one it's replaced), fingers crossed it lasts beyond the 24 month warranty...

Everything you need contained within the kit along with first class instructions. I too would recommend throughly reading the instructions (plus also watching the video) first. It is a little bit tricky and indeed tedious first carefully removing all the old battery pack(s) - however, it's well worth taking you time and making sure that you properly remove all traces of the old adhesive, thus ensuring the new battery pack is both properly seated and firmly secured. I found the replacement battery to work flawlessly, with no recognition issues and along with a replacement 1tb SSD and a clean install of the OS this has completely transformed my mid 2014 MacBook Pro - all for around £125 (for everything). Depending on your individual needs? this could potentially represent an excellent (environmentally friendly option too!) alternative if like many, you actually do not really need (because you are not going to exploit) the power and capabilities of an 'all singing and dancing' brand new laptop. It all comes down to your personal needs and your budget in the end, but very satisfying to be able to rejuvenate something that was far too good frankly, to be discarded (just yet) imho.....

I installed this replacement battery in my MacBook Pro (A1389, Mid-2014) and it’s working really well so far — holds a charge reliably and feels like a noticeable improvement over the old worn-out battery. The video instructions provided were really helpful, making the installation process much easier to follow and reducing any nerves about doing it myself. Everything fit as expected and there were no issues with compatibility. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend it for anyone looking to replace an ageing battery in this model.

Fairly easy to do. You need to disconnect the battery and trackpad cable before removing the old battery. Put some isopropyl in a plastic syringe and use the yellow card to pry the old battery out and replace with the new one. I did struggle a bit to get the new battery to plug in as the cable is a little longer than the original, I would personally recommend plugging the battery in before putting the battery in place and putting the screws back in but it was fairly easy over all. I chose this one over the other options as the reviews seemed very good and honestly initial impressions are that its a good quality battery. It all switched straight on and charges great + has fixed my error. Its not the cheapest but it seems there is some variation in quality with 3rd party brands and this one comes recommended. From the tests ive ran its stating battery health at 112.1%.

Kit is comprehensive (apart from the Isopropyl alcohol you'll need, due to postage constraints - read the notes). I watched the video and paused as I went, though the instruction sheet is very good - quality paper, good print, accurate and readable. The technique for releasing the batteries isnt hard, just go slowly and follow the video as you do. Getting the battery connector in place is a bit of a fiddle, but it went in OK - and I'm writing this review on the laptop afterwards. Top tips: - Note the screwdrive handle colour in the video - I used the spudger to lift off the battery connector - it was a tight fit. - Make holes in the kit foam to store the screws in the original arrangement as you remove them to make sure you dont mix 'em up. - Use Isopropyl alc to remove remaining sticky goo with (lots of) earbuds, kitchen towel etc. before fitting new batteries. - Dont rush :) So far, very happy. Will revise from 5* if that changes in the next month.

Encaja bien en el ordenador, parece que funciona bien. A esperar como evoluciona con el tiempo, pero de momento la autonomia mucho mejor que con la antigua. Saque la vieja usando un alambre, visto en youtube.

I purchased this ASMARK battery for my Mid 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro (A1398). Here is the honest data from my first few days: Installation & Tools The kit is complete. It includes the P5 Pentalobe and T5 Torx screwdrivers needed. The physical fit is perfect, removing the original Apple adhesive is the hardest part of the job but that's expected and just takes a bit of patience. Delivery (Belgium) Ordered on 11 March 2026 and arrived on 19 March 2026. Delivery took 8 days, so don't expect "next day" shipping if you are in a rush. Technical Performance Stress Test: I ran a 4K video loop at 75% brightness. The Mac lasted 2 hours and 55 minutes. For a €68 battery on a 15-inch laptop, this is a solid, stable result. Firmware: Note that the software reports a fake 9973 mAh capacity (112% health). My hardware logs (ioreg) show the real chemical capacity is closer to 8000 mAh. It is also an A1494 (11.26V) model rather than the 2015-specific A1618 (11.36V), but it has remained perfectly stable under load. Verdict It is a functional, stable replacement that keeps an old Mac alive for a fraction of the cost of an OEM part. Just be aware that the capacity numbers in the software are inflated and shipping takes about a week.

My 2015 MacBook Pro has served me well all these years and might continue to do so thanks to this battery. Replacing the old battery with this was a painstaking process, but really, as long as you closely follow the provided manual and video instructions, all’s good. Took a while, but I managed to do it thanks again to the video tutorial and the provided tools.
