The book stand (I could almost call it a lectern) comes carefully and beautifully packed. It is very well made of firstclass materials. The adjustment joits are q little stioff to start with but that precludes any slippage when the stand is in use.It is a generous size and strong enough to support the heaviest book with ease. There are metal clips with soft shoes that hold the pages of a book in place so the stand is equallu useful for soft-bound paperbacks, heavy tomes and ring-bound books.I use it in the kitchen and have found it such a help. My recipe book is a homemade, hand-written affair with the accumulated efforts of many years and this stand is perfect. I can set it so that the height and angle of the book matches my line of vision and it can be rotated 360' so that when I turn from worktop to stove I can quickly and easily adjust the view. The stand looks clean and neat on the worktop and is easily wiped if there are any splashes.The stand is not cheap. It is good design, excellent material and execution, visually appealing and totally satisfying in use. I think these attributes justify the price. I'm delighted with it.

This is a sturdy, good looking book rest, but the joints are so stiff I had to get help to even open it initially. I hope with use it will ease up. Obviously it has to be stiff enough to cope with a heavy book or iPad, but getting the balance right is quite tricky.

I use the item in the kitchen to keep the cookbooks open and away from oil splattering over them or dirty finger marks. Totally recommend!

This bookstand is made from aluminium alloy and transparent acrylic - it looks very attractive and modern, as well as having great functionality. The functionality is that it is both rotatable through 360-degrees and height/angle adjustable. The construction feels very sturdy and looks like it will last a long time. It's a good modern/ergonomic alternative to a wooden book stand. However, this is an expensive purchase and you'd ned to be sure that you'd get the value out of it before purchasing it.

This is not unlike a higher end laptop riser (and feels identical in operation in terms of height adjustment and rotation). However it is purpose designed in that the back section the magazine or book rests again is transparent acrylic and therefore your attention is focused on the page without any distracting material/stand behind it. I did not think it would make that much of a difference but it does. Also it arguably does look far more attractive and discrete than if you were to use a laptop stand. As such I think it’s a rather unique and well-designed idea. It is certainly very sturdy (though not too heavy) and I can see it being used in a number of ways.

This is really perfect for me. People are complaining it is too stiff but that is exactly what I want - I don't want something that is going to sag if I put a heavy book on it. I am currently using it for music for my ukulele playing but this is quite a large and heavy folder of chords and words. I have also used it in the kitchen with one of my heavier cookbooks on whilst making some curries and chicken satay. It is very manoeuvrable and adaptable which is exactly what I needed. So, for me, top marks!

As a stand that bears weight, this obviously needs to be pretty well-made, and indeed it is. However, once unpacked, the hinges are so stiff it's extremely difficult to unfold it into position - and by this i mean you need to use so much force and leverage that I was genuinely afraid I would break it, or break the acrylic and cut myself. For e.g. elderly people, this isn't a good choice for this reason alone - you need to use such significant levels of force that I initially wondered if the hinges had seized or were deliberately jammed in place for transit. As such, this is hard to recommend.

This is a very versatile and sturdy stand which can be used to hold books, tablets and small sized "note book" style laptops. What makes this stand unique is that the base as a 360 degree turn, so if you are for example in the kitchen cooking with a cook book/recipe on the stand, you can turn it to read it from any angle. It can also be raised and lowered depending on your needs...as someone for example who builds complex LEGO sets, being able to have the instructions raised off the table gives me more room to build on instead of having to move the instructions out of the way. It is made from strong materials, the acrylic is why the asking price is so high but it is a very worthwhile investment in my opinion if you have been looking for a stand like this. Well made with a diverse range of uses....very impressive stand.
