Absolutely Fantastic Read!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ReviewThis is my first Autumn Archer book and it most definitely will not be my last. She writes an intensely fast paced forced proximity dark romance packed full of twists, betrayals, secrets and lies and a whole bunch more. This is Tomas and Carina’s rollercoaster ride of a story. These two both have experienced great trauma in their lives. Carina has faced so much and has not let it break her. When she is found covered in his fathers blood she finds herself once again a prisoner. But the connection and chemistry between these two changes circumstances. Their story is dark and intense and an absolute must read.Seriously can’t wait to read more of Autumn Archers books. This was a fantastic read and I highly recommend it!!

Great story, mediocre spice, lots of babble
Really liked the story line. Spice was mediocre but my spice scale might be a bite more smutty. Lots of unnessicary babble and explanation and detail. Explaining the same feelings over and over in such a way you have to read paragraphs multiple times to make sure your grasping the concept. The story line is great and I kept reading because I want to know the outcome, at this point I'm not reading so much out of inability to put down as much as I am to see where it goes.

Tomás & Carina’s story begins
This is book one of the Souza Cartel. This book has a darkness that you can't put down. These are two strong characters.Tomás has had a darkness since the day he had to kill his uncle at a young age. He can't stand the sight of blood on him. Then Carina comes into his life by accident, and she can bring him out of the darkness of his mind by a touch.

Hard to Follow
Seems to be a good story line however the writing is very hard to follow. I feel like the author chose words that created more of a riddle than a story which made it hard to follow what was what. Using “big words” does not make you a good writer. Using words to make the story flow easier for people to follow is what makes the story. Not saying it was horrible but was very hard to read and follow most of the time. Every other sentence was like huh what are they trying to say.

Good book, but!
This a really good story and loved reading it. Spoiler alert. I had a couple issues with it. The first one was she never learns a lesson not to wonder off by herself because she gets hurt every time she does. Also, the book is unnecessarily wordy . It could have been like a 100 pages shorter. I had to skip through a lot of internal dialogue that made reading the book boring at times!

4.5 stars
Spoilers below.I'm so glad that I drove right into this book. I enjoyed Tomas's use of regional tigers in obtaining truth from potential enemies. I loved that Carina is the key to Tomas not losing himself to his personal demons when his hands are covered in blood. How she brought Tomas back to himself the first time, in his bathroom was really hot. Their chemistry and sexual attraction was very well portrayed. The author conveys the small details that enhance the story, the physical descriptions of the characters and their specific habits. I'm so rooting for Tomas to get over his fear of Carina being seen as a weakness and bring her into his mafia infused family and at his side. His struggle with duty and his responsibilities to his familia vs. listening to his heart, it's a completely new concept for him to consider. Now that Carina knows about his upcoming marriage that Tomas completely omitted, I can see her running and possibly being captured in the duet.

Amazing read...
When I say I love this book I mean I love this book, and I doesn't hurt that I'm picturing the exact guy on the cover as Tomas. The story is amazing and the development of the characters perfect... all I can say is you have to read these books heading into bk 2 and I can't wait❤️❤️

amazing!!!
Really good story line and strong development of characters! I’ve really enjoyed the chemistry between Tomas and carina! The support of the side characters and plot twist at the end adds further appeal for this book.

Hostile Angst
Tomas and Carina will singe the pages as you read. Admittedly, a few chapters less of her whining about wanting him would have been just fine…the story is undoubtably a page turner. Read it in one night. The family, the wars, the broken souls all make this amazing read.

Carina and Tomas find each other again.
This is book one of the Hostile duet. In order to understand more about how the characters Tomas and Carina meet, I would advise reading the Hostile Heart first. Carina is young but for someone her age she has suffered more than most 19 yr old, she is finding her way in the world but has demons. One demon in particular is Tomas, although he’s mafia he also has been through a lot in his life. Carina is his calmness in a Hostile world. Their chemistry is scorching hot, neither want to admit to their feelings as it’s dangerous for both of them in different ways. This book has drama, very dark romance, trust issues and so many twists and turns you’ll get whiplash! . Ends on a cliffhanger and there’s a bit of a wait for book two but so worth it. I am captivated by these characters and Miss Archers style of writing. On a side note I need to get me some Tequila 😜

Hopeful for the next book
Hoping Carina is stronger in the next book, the never-ending self doubt is a little annoying. That said, I still enjoyed the story overall.
