Good reference source for mermaid skits

I wish that Amazon wouldn't mix reviews together for different versions of the same story. It is very confusing when you are looking for a specific edition. For potential customers' benefit, I am reviewing the Charles Santore illustrated version of The Little Mermaid published by Applesauce Press.The story is true to Hans Christian Andersen's original tale and nothing to do with the Disney version. If you are a big fan of the Disney's Little Mermaid, then you may be disappointed to find that it doesn't quite end the same way and is less child friendly in the sense that it's not quite happily ever after. However, the original message about self sacrifice in love is retained which I think is more important.What I also love about this edition is the illustrations by Charles Santore which is done beautifully in watercolour using blue tones and yellow tones to show contrast of the sea kingdom and the land above respectively as well as symbolising the emotions of the protagonist. The mermaid illustrations are also very exquisite and carefully studied. In my opinion it is a book that may suit older children better as it requires a bit of maturity to appreciate the message of the story and the aesthetic value in the illustrations.This is a lovely captivating book for an older audience and I would certainly recommend this for those who enjoy good illustrated classics.
