The colors of the design are vibrant and the bag has 1 large main compartment, 1 of similar height but meant to carry less, and the. 1 smaller compartment for pens and pencils or other small items. It can also hold a water bottle on both side however they can not be much bigger than a plastic water bottle. This is a simple bag without a whole lot of extras. The down side is that it won't hold more than 2 textbooks and that's if they aren't super thick. This is probably a better bag for older elementary kids or middle schoolers if it is to be used for school. I can't imagine it being big enough for what high schoolers would need.
