The Trestles 15 Sleeping Bag is a roomy, mummy-style synthetic bag that performs in cold and damp conditions thanks to SpiraFil high-loft insulation. The unique blend of large, spiral hollow fibers and small polyester fibers provides the exceptional warmth, softness, and compressibility of natural down while increasing moisture resistance. The Trestles is also EN rated as comfortable for men at a lower limit of approximately 15 degrees Fahrenheit. It features a dual-zipper design: a full-length anti-snag main zipper, plus a second fold-down zipper for added ventilation and easy access. The anatomically shaped footbox minimizes heat buildup and gives you plenty of room to wiggle your toes, flex your feet, and find a comfy sleeping position. The bag’s top portion is built for maximum loft and warmth, the bottom portion retains a blanket-like feel for all-night comfort, and the 3D hood can be adjusted to optimize heat retention. Rounding out this excellent bag is an interior stash pocket, “feely” draw cords, dual hang loops, and an included stuff sack that compresses for convenient packability.

A cheap way for a dude to get a 0 deg bag!
I'm a 45-yr-old man, 5'8", 175 lb. I'm a mechanical engineer, Eagle Scout, and Scoutmaster. I bought this "Women's Trestles 15 Long" bag for myself to use as a 0 degree bag for cold weather camping. Let me explain...I bought this to replace a 30-yr-old mummy bag from when I was a kid, which just doesn't keep me warm anymore. Also, temp ratings on sleeping bags have changed since then. The "EN" rating represents three different values: a COMFORT rating, a LIMIT rating, and an EXTREME rating. This "Women's 15" bag has a COMFORT rating of 13.8F, a LIMIT rating of 0.1F, and an EXTREME rating of -37.8F. See attached picture of the label on the bag liner itself. [The extreme rating is where you probably won't no-kidding die of exposure. The limit rating is where a male with clothing layers would sleep OK. The comfort rating is where you'll actually feel warm while camping in the cold. Men's bags are sold based on the LIMIT rating, while women's bags are sold based on the COMFORT rating.]For comparison, I own two Men's Trestles 15 bags for my teenage sons. One bag is older (2015) and doesn't have the full EN labeling on it, but the stuff sack says "EN Tested 11.8F / weight 3 lbs 14 oz / Spirafil Synthetic". The newer (2018) men's Trestles 15 stuff sack says "EN Limit 16.0F / weight 3 lbs 6.1 oz / Spirafil LT Synthetic", and the label inside the bag itself says "EN 13537 tested Comfort 27.3F / Limit 16F / Extreme -17F". I have used the 2015 bag on tent campouts with temps in the 20's and 30's and woke up cold, needing to add a sweatshirt layer. These Trestles 15 bags are excellent bags. Well crafted, with great features. Very compact and lightweight. Fantastic price performance. They've worked great for my boys, so I bought one of my own! And I took a gamble and I cleverly selected the women's version, and I was right!...This Women's Trestles 15 Long bag is labelled on the stuff sack as "EN Tested 13.8F / weight 4 lb 8 oz / Spirafil Synthetic". Yet, as I said above, it has an EN LIMIT rating of 0deg. So for a male, it's a zero degree bag! That's also why it weighs more than the Men's Trestles 15. Another difference with the women's bag is it is shorter, and slightly wider, than the men's bags. That's great for me because I'm not very tall, and the few extra inches of girth makes is easier to get dressed and undressed while remaining inside the mummy bag (a key benefit in cold camping). The red color on the bag is a little bit more purple-ish than it appears onscreen. But still manly enough. And yeah it says WOMEN'S on the outside of it in two places, but I'm comfortable enough with my gender identity not to worry about it.I'll admit, I haven't taken it camping yet because it just arrived today. I tried the fit and it is good. And obviously I confirmed all the stats for it firsthand, as described above. I'll update this post after I use it on our next cold-weather campout. One final note: As expected, the stuffed/packed size of this Women's 15 is indeed slightly larger than the Men's 15. The stuff sack is the same size, but it doesn't compress as much. I'm not surprised that it's a little bigger, and it's not a big enough difference to change my mind.Update 2020-12-07: I took this bag tent camping in 30deg weather and I was comfortable with just light pajamas (which I changed out of while still in my bag next morning! Oh yeah!) Also, the shape of this bag’s hood was very pleasant to sleep in, unlike others I’ve used.

Good 3 season bag
My girlfriend used this on her first backpacking trip and was very satisfied with it.For reference, she sleeps cold, had a thermarest scout sleeping pad, and slept in a lightweight merino wool baselayer with a wool beanie and wool socks. The temperature was 40F both nights, with little to no wind. The tent was an REI Half Dome Two Plus. She found the sleeping bag kept her warm, but she was concerned that if the temperature dipped much lower than she would need additional layers. The zipper kept getting snagged on the draft tube, but it was easy to unsnag it. She really couldn't operate the drawstrings (although I chalk that up to her inexperience), and could not fully zipper the bag shut. Otherwise, it had enough room and she thought it was very comfortable. The stuff sack could be slightly larger to make it easier to stuff the bag in.Overall, she will use this bag again provided the temps do not go below 35F.

Extremely warm, lightweight, a bit shorter than I'd like.
Warmest and lightest sleeping bag I've ever had. Rating listed is comfort, not survivability like most. Toasty warm even in below freezing temps. I would suggest comfort on length of the short bag should be listed as 5'4" Not 5'6", as I'm 5'5" and find it a bit cramped. You should be able to stretch your toes and have a small pillow tucked into the hood. It's an excellent bag either way, and can be unzipped, flipped, and easily used as a camping quilt. Double duty is added value.

Most likely received a return.
I'm pretty sure I received a return... because of the way the product arrived. The sleeping bag was placed in a plastic bag that was loosely tied, pretty sure the sleeping bag was supposed to arrive in the compression sack. Anyway, it looked unused and I didn't find anything wrong with the product, so I tested it out. I am 5'2" and it is a comfortable fit, not too warm.If I don't end up returning it, I may update this review after actually using it during a trip.

The Marmot Trestles 15 Sleeping bag is a fantastic purchase. My fiancee has already used this bag ...
The Marmot Trestles 15 Sleeping bag is a fantastic purchase. My fiancee has already used this bag on one extremely cold overnight in the mountains here in Alaska and it worked great, in fact it was so warm she had to unzip it a bit to regulate temperature. While it may not be the lightest or smallest stuffing bag out there it is light and small when considering the price point. A first rate product. In addition to this one I have a men's Trestles 15 I have used for years and it has held up to much abuse and all kinds of conditions. I highly recommend this bag to anyone putting together a backpacking set up on a budget. You won't be sorry.

Warm and compresses well into a compression sack.
I ordered this sleeping bag in LONG. I am a woman, 5'6 and weigh 217lbs. I ordered long because I wanted more leg room. I'm glad I did. I can't imagine if I ordered regular. In my opinion the sleeping bag fit snug. I couldn't flex my legs alot and I had difficulty turning BUT this sleeping bag kept me warm in the low 40's which dropped down to the low 30's with consistent rain showers and wind. It literally rained all night. I am not a cold person so that may have helped me retain my body heat. I did have a very heavy mink on top of me. I would HIGHLY recommend a sleeping bag liner and a blanket on top. As well as a sleeping pad (which I did not have). I did however lay out a heat reflective tarp on the floor of the tent. It was quite CHILLY inside of the tent but my feet never felt cold. I woke a few time to the blanket off of me and to the side, not covering me at all and I still felt warm. I only slept in an oversized t shirt!!! I hate socks and I hate pants. Never woke shivering! I would highly recommend this sleeping bag. I will say, the inside of this sleeping is polyester. Which feels cold but does warm eventually! It doesn't have a fleece or cotton lining. Please pack a sheet or sleeping bag liner. If you're a cold person, definitely pack appropriate sleepwear! If you don't like feeling confined, I would not recommend this mummy style sleeping bag. Perhaps a rectangular sleeping bag will work best and offer more room to move around.

Warm and cozy below freezing (<0°C).
My girlfriend used this for her last trip of the season at Algonquin Park in Canada in mid October (16th-18th). She says "The weather dipped below freezing both nights, and I stayed warm. I am usually cold when I sleep, even camping during the summer, so I wore thermals and layered socks. Since I'm ~5'5" (163cm), I was able to scoot to the bottom of the bag so my face was not directly exposed to the cold air. It does a good job at holding your heat in the same spot, though if you shift, you might find an area you weren't touching a little cooler than where you were resting, but it warms up quick! I was pleasantly suprised that the zipper glows in the dark for easy locating. I would definitely recommend using this with an insulated mat, I have an insulated klymit mat, and I could easily tell whenever my feet were over the edge due to tilt of land and the mat resting too close to the head of the tent. We solved this by having our life jackets at the foot of the tent where the mats ended. I really like the extra quarter zipper on the right side, I used that to get in and out rather than the full zipper. I also like that it compresses down not too much bigger than my summer bag. I would recommend this product, the delivery was fast, and though I don't believe it mentions it it does include a compression bag. I will see how it holds up, and try to review it again next year. Questions are welcome. "

High quality, meets its specifications
This bag is given a low rating for weight and is discounted because of this. I needed a bag for at-home use and I am a short male with a large chest. I got this female-sized bag because I did not want extra length as it makes the bag harder to heat, I did want the larger size, and I didn't care about the heavier weight. I sleep outside always so this is well suited to my needs. It has the extra benefit of being of high-quality design, as you would expect from any Marmot bag. I will give this one criticism: the color combination of blue-on-blue with black interior borders on ugly. They could have done so much better!

Excellent achat
Excellent achat.
