Q: Will this work for other phone brands/models, in particular, the Razer Phone?

As an owner of the Razer Phone and an owner of a Gamevice. I can say that if the Gamevice accommodated phones that were 2.9 mm wider it would work. I have used a type-c extension cable and can confirm controller works, power pass-through and headphones, even both simultaneously. Razer Phone is 2.9 mm wider then the Note 8. Now if only Gamevice were to make a controller for it *nudge nudge*.

The Essential phone is 2.80 wide vs the S8 at 2.68, Gamevices are engineered to be snug and even if you managed to jam it in (Giggidy) that doesn't mean the USB-C port would be aligned so you'd more than likely jam or snap it off (ouch).
