Recording Audiobooks

Helpful
This book was the first one I read about producing audio books. I found it to be quite helpful and informative. It had a few typos & misspellings and a wee bit of self promotion of a concurrent business, but in general, those two factors didn’t get in the way of a fairly high quality reading experience.

Very informative
It is short, but gives a lot of info without filler. I found it very helpful and will probably continue to use it as a reference. There is also some nice bonus material that gives you step by step instructions which is super handy.

Broken Links
Good info, if a little bit simplistic, especially the sections on how to use Audacity and Garageband. However, at several points in the text, the author offers links to "bonus" material. These links do not work. They gave me "404 errors" every time I tried to access them. If the text is updated to correct these links, I'd consider adding a star to the review.

Clear, Concise & Great for the Beginner
Really enjoyed reading. It is clear, concise, and perfect for the beginner or the author considering recording his/her own audiobook. The bonus features are excellent - several YouTube videos that enable you to "see" what is being done. Finished the book and will undoubtably refer back.

This is a good overview of how to get started with audio books ...
This is a good overview of how to get started with audio books through ACX and Audible but it doesn't spend much time on the real meat of making an audiobook, which is the recording. That's the hard part, and while the book walks about using colored pencils to mark different aspects of the text to be recorded, that's as deep as it gets. I would have liked to have seen a lot more about this. Definitely worth $.99, but if you're looking for more in-depth info on production and recording, this isn't the book you need.

A well-written, concise introduction to recording audiobooks
This concise book gave me the necessary details to get started in the creation of an audiobook. I especially appreciated the homegrown approach coupled with direction of when to seek professional editing help. I feel I can take the first steps with confidence.

Great read!
This is such a great book for anyone wanting to learn how to turn books into audiobooks. It goes into detail about what equipment you will need to record the book, different options on editing the book, and so much more. I especially liked chapter five about uploading the file and changing settings (if needed). He also supplies a link to a video near the end of the book. This is a great book and I highly recommend it!

Good Overpriced info
This book has good info in it but seems a little thin for the price tag.

The Mystery Taken Out of Audio Book Recording.
Want to record and publish an audio book? Not sure how or where to start? Well it’s all explained here in concise plain English. Both PC and Mac users catered for with step-by-step guidance on how to install, set up and use free software available for both machines. All you need is your voice and a microphone. For the more technical parts (editing your recording) you may need some support and sources for that are included. So if you want to get in to audio book production – perhaps you are an author wanting to explore other options – this book gives you a heads-up starting point.I liked it for that reason – it’s straight to the point, educational and shows that there need be no barrier to getting yourself out there in audio book land.

A too brief How to ...
Sorry, this book is too brief - even for free. It lacks details, how to's ... to any extent. Don't bother
