I recently remodeled a small guest bathroom. My previous shower had been in the corner while the new no-door, no pan shower takes up the whole wall, so I lost storage space. I like having a shower chair, and I appreciate the lower rack for storing extras. The seat is very attractive and my family loves it.

It's not as tall as I thought it would be, and I didn't give it much hope at first, but when you really start to try it, you really find that you can't live without it, not just in the bathroom.

Several people have remarked that the top deck looks aesthetically similar to the curved beam atop of a Japanese torii. The wood looks similar to walnut, but upon closer inspection it appears to be rubberwood with a heavy layer of varnish or lacquer.This went together in minutes, and true to the description, every surface was well-sealed and rounded. There are no sharp edges. I'd recommend assembling it entirely, but leave all of the bolts finger tight and then gradually tightening the bolts in sequence. You shouldn't hear crunching or cracking noises because the wood will expand with moisture.On initial removal from the box, the lacquer off-gassing was pretty unpleasant, so if you are sensitive to paint fumes or have pet birds, you may want to assemble outside and let it air out for a few days (the smell dissipated after an afternoon in the sun).While obviously not an heirloom piece of fine furniture, it's also not flat pack junk, and I foresee it lasting a long time.
