When our kiddo is being disciplined, they often go to a negative space. This critter says encouraging things without minimizing the action. Things like, "You will do better next time" and such. Very helpful for getting them out of the "I am bad always" mindset. Very cuddly too.

My initial unit was defective -- didn't speak, but due to an apparent short circuit, the batteries would get HOT. Sealed inside a fabric toy... this would not have been good.That said, the replacement works just fine. The lion itself is cute and plush. The 'supportive phrases' can feel a bit odd, as they are sort of a scatter-shot approach to everything that might bother a traumatized kid. Stock phrases like "It's OK to make mistakes" are generic and supportive; but there's also stuff like "I can face my fears", which will be hit or miss, and "I am strong enough to handle this" starts to sound like it's for kids in need of more therapy can a stuffed lion can offer. YMMV, of course.Minor quibbles: the pouch in the back to put in the battery is closed with velcro, a bit awkwardly; and the activation switch is unmarked and in one of the lower paws, whereas hugging might have been a better trigger.

My grandson loved Brody but unfortunately it stopped working after a short time. It's still in great condition otherwise. We tried new batteries and that wasn't the problem. I think it was very comforting to him while it was working. I'm hoping they will replace it even though return date was July 22. Defective I believe it's in the wiring. Installed New batteries and it still doesn't work. *SENDER: I would like it replaced since it stopped shortly after the return by date.

My child loved this lion. It was such a great motivational tool. But after maybe 2 weeks it stopped working. Replaced batteries and still nothing. Now I am left with a sad child.

This lion was really cute. Although it was a bit smaller than I realized, it's phrases of support like "I can think different thoughts if I want to" and "this is tough, but so am I" became a really cute way to encourage my coworkers to get through their day. I sat it on my desk with a small paper sign that said "push my paw for a special message" and it was a big hit. It dished out advice from "I can handle challenges" to "things will get better eventually!". It was cute and was a fun way to break up the work day. It will eventually have a home with my friend who is going through a tough time right now. Little messages of hope and encouragement can benefit anyone.

This lion is adorable. She says some phrases that resonate, however there are a few like “It’s going to get better” that have sort of a downer feeling to them and the voice while attempting to be confidant comes off as aggressive. The toy itself is well made. I’m not sure if the voice matches the lion. A few issues here. The phrases would be most helpful for children with depression perhaps. We are enjoying the lion without batteries.

Great for kids that have anxiety. Helps my grandchild when she is feeling overwhelmed and anxious. The animal is soft and does not bother her skin. It is a great item to give.
