Fun kit but a little complex
This really is such a cool giftable toy for kids. And it is easy to use it just has a lot of instructions to it so you have to kind of get used to how it works. I have a special needs kid who's really into science but he had a very difficult time with this. I actually played with it more than he did and I thought it was really neat. Once you get the concept of it it is so simple to play with and it runs so smoothly. Would definitely recommend to kids that are into robotics or coding or things like that. And definitely for a little bit of a higher age level like eight plus.

Simple Set, Easy for Younger Kids
What I have noticed with my kids as I have tried out numerous coding robots is that for the younger kids (4 and 5) they have been most engaged in the button sequence type of coding like this kit. I have another one that can switch modes and they gravitate to the buttons over the visual block coding in the apps. It gives that tactical feel while also providing a challenging logic puzzle. The track that comes with this is nice, but the rover falls into the typical trap of these robot kits. There isn't a feature that helps to correct its trajectory. If you are angled off slightly that small angle become quite large the farther from start you get, so each movement eventually knocks you off of the prescribed track. It is still fun and my kids didn't seem to care too much that it falls off of the track sometimes. In some cases that became part of the challenge for longer sequences to see if you can align it perfectly to get to the end. I don't like that the big orange wheels are fake and the real driving wheels are tiny ones hidden under the rover. Overall with the visual cards and push button coding this is a very good introduction to robots and coding for kids 4 and over.

A fun toy for kids: don't spoil it by telling them it's educational
Two of our grandkids (5 and 14) were coming in for a visit and I wanted something to whet the curiosity of the 5 year old and keep him distracted from the omnipresent screens for at least a few hours. This looked like a good solution: easy to use, teaches logic skills and no computer/phone required. The box contained plastic tiles used to create various obstacle courses, assorted plastic decorations/obstacles, the programmable rover (made of sturdy plastic) and sturdy cardboard programming cards. The organization of the box is good and I was able to return the pieces to their slots and still close the box. However, the cardboard dividers don’t look like they’re in it for the long haul. They’re good enough, but I can see the box getting messy over the next few months. The rover is powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included). Be sure you have a small Philips screwdriver to open the battery compartment. Other than that, assembly was easy and the manual was clear and helpful, with many suggested course layouts. The rover itself has five programming buttons on the top: four arrows and a Go button in the middle. Each arrow is color coded and matches the arrows on the programming cards. The process is simple: after assembling your course, use the cards to show the path you want the rover to take. Then, program the rover by pushing the arrow button matching the cards. When you’re finished, remove the cards, put the rover at the starting point, push the middle button and watch the rover travel around the course (hopefully) successfully. There are a couple of tricks to keep in mind: the turn arrows only rotate the rover. You’ll need to add a forward arrow to the tile to ensure it moves ahead after turning. And you need to be sure the rover is centered on the tiles, especially if you’re using the arches as decorations. The 5 year old loved pushing the buttons and watching the rover go, though it was a bit of a challenge to get him focused on the cards. The older one caught on right away and was quickly able to program the rover without using the cards. They both had fun building courses and they worked together to guide the rover.I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to set up and how much fun they had with it. I’m not sure it would be as good for a 4 or 5 year old playing on their own, but if they have a helper, it’s a lot of fun. Just don’t tell your kids it’s educational.

Cute concept but fails in execution
This is a cute product but it fails in execution. The rover constantly veers off track like it needs a front end alignment, lol. It's a nice introduction to coding for kids to get them excited but using this kit as designed is very aggravating at times - more so for the adults than the kids. The kids did enjoy it and got a giggle each time it falls off the track or runs something over, but would have liked it more if it was able to follow the tracks a bit better. So overall it's a cute concept but just fails in the execution and for the price range we expected better results.

Awesome
Gives the fundamentals of basic coding which is absolutely critical for not only careers in coding, but in understanding how the modern world functions. I personally used very similar tools to learn this stuff when I was at school and it helped immeasurably. It's amazing that this kind of thing is now available in the home. This set is fantastic, really well made and works exactly as it should. Highly recommended.

lehrreich

Ottimi materiali, semplice da usare e da giocare.
The media could not be loaded.

Cool starter kit
Simply and fun.3 AAA batteries and off it goes. You have to lay the path/steps to start with, as per movement. These can be removed when the coding skills improved.A bit of constructing, coding, trial and error, logical thinking and fun.Good educational set for coding with physical items, rather all on the screen.Slightly pricey even at £55.
