Like it very bright. Comes with an internal fan which you can hear. So far so good if it last longer than the different kind I replaced this one with

I have purchased 5 of these lights so far and we absolutely love them. We replaced some mercury halide light bulbs with these and wow what a difference. Instant on, super bright, very low energy use. The only problem we've had with them is one of the lights seems to dim sometimes and will visibly turn brighter. I love how these lights come with a picture diagram showing you how to convert a fixture from a ballast to not needing the ballast and using an led light bulb.

We retrofitted 12 parking lot shoe box lights running at 120v (yes, the electrician removed the old ballasts and wired the sockets directly). Lights are on a timer to run only at night. So far 9 out of 12 have failed. Every week another one quits working. There is NO WAY TO CONTACT the manufacturer for replacements! They claim 5-year warranty but it is useless if there is no way to contact them. We are out $719 plus electrician costs and lift rental. WHAT A SCAM.

Is what it is, does what it does.

I picked up a pair of the 200 watt variant of this bulb for my home office. I suffer from some serious SAD, and after reading a blog post about using extreme amounts of light to light up a whole room rather than using a small panel held 12-16 inches from the face (which is the normal treatment) I was intrigued. So I picked up a pair of torchiere lights, some e39-e26 adapters, and a couple of these bulbs.And oh my god, do these things put out some serious light. With two of them, I have to turn my monitor all the way up and am considering buying a brighter monitor to account for it.They do make some fan noise as they have an active cooler. I only intend to run these in the morning to make sure I can get my light when I get up, so I don't really care if they make noise. I suspect that if you are buying these for an industrial application, that doesn't matter.After a little more research I found some lights that are passively cooled and returned these.

I noticed right off that our security camera showed everything in color with how bright these are. We’re now able to see faces clear as day. With theft high now we can record any movement around the cars and get a clear view. Thankfully we haven’t had to use the recording to send to the authorities.I’ve been using these for a few weeks now and still as bright as when I installed them. Summer and the heat didn’t impact how they worked and now winter is next to see how they perform in the cold. I don’t expect any issues and the view on the cameras.I recommend them and hope this helps with camera recordings.

Fit well into wall mounted fixtures.
