Nice quality, large shells. My hermit crabs switched in to them almost immediately… very happy with these shells!

These shells came in decent shape. A few nicks off the edges. Not all of the shells are ideal for hermit crabs due to their shape and lack of internal space for their bodies. The shells i recieved were from about 1.25 inches to 2.25inches. I also noticed i did not recieve 5 shells as advertised, but only 4. I've placed pictures so to have a better idea of what size you will be getting to make sure it will fit your hermie and roughly how to measure their shells. You should be measuring from the start of the shell to the edge of the shell that shows the widest opening, not straight across from one side to the other. The shells are of good quality,have a nice weight feel to them and the shell feels sturdy, but one of them seems extremely shiny and im concerned it has a clear coat of something on it. NEVER USE ANY KIND OF PAINTED SHELL, they are toxic and will poison your hermies. I'm not completely disappointed in the purchase, but I have a hermie on the larger size and the shells I recieved might not fit him due to their lack of internal space. His shell is already at 1.5inches at the opening and he protrudes out of it heavily, which means he most likely will need a shell large enough to have a 2inch wide opening which is why I had purchased this set. They will work for my 2 smaller guys though, so at least they'll have options lol. If you look up -Crab Central Station- on YouTube, they have LOTS of info on taking care of your hermie babies AND how to measure their shells😊 boil your shells before putting them in your tanks for your hermies!!!

The media could not be loaded. The shells came very neatly packed so they wouldn’t break and they were all in tact. I boiled these bad boys and cooled them off in burkey filtered water. While they were boiling, I put my babies inside their portable cage and brought them outside to enjoy the warm and humid weather, I know they love that. It’s like walking a dog, we do it everyday. I added all 6 shells into their cage. Mind you, I have 2 big crabs and 2 small crabs. The two bigger ones was the ones that were needing bigger shells and most importantly, 1 of my 2 bigger crabs needed to get out of the plastic painted shell that people at the beach sell them in ( which is very harmful to them ) it wasn’t 5 minutes that I had the shells in their cage that my biggest one “ pinky” changed shells, which I got on video. It wasn’t 5 minutes after that when my other one” penny” changed shells as well. I brought them all back in to their indoor crabitat, turned on the heat lamp ( I always have a heating pad on in the tank) but when they transfer shells, they need that extra heating element as they have been exposed. They both are so happy and so am I. These shells deserve more than allowed. I give them a 10 star review

The shells are nice and a couple of them are a larger opening size, one is a medium opening size and 2 are smaller opening size. They are not all large as advertised but hopefully they will do, as my hermit crab is molting right now and will need a new shell once done.

Great deal for 5 large shells for my hermit crab! I was in need of 1.75 - 2.5" openings. These are natural & beautiful.
