I am absolutely thrilled!!
My daughter is deathly allergic to bee stings. I don’t ever want to find out is she is also allergic to wasps. I’ve tried bug zappers, sprays, you name it… to ward off stinging bugs. Nothing worked all that well. Two weeks ago I ordered these in a desperate attempt to save us all from the stinging swarms around the crabapple tree. And they arrived next day — BONUS!! I had to go buy apple cider vinegar to prepare them so I didn’t get them up right away.I was astounded by how quickly these little devils fell in love with my trickery and deceit! Just look at the pics…. One week and I can’t even count the dead bodies, and plenty more are in there hanging out to get to the sweet nectar recipe the company provided. Absolutely blown away.I’m just trying to figure out the safest disposal method now. Great problem to have!

Works well with Yellow Jackets
At first I tried the Apple Juice suggestion and I had one Yellow Jacket after a couple of days.I saw a suggestion here about using bacon and I thought what the heck I will try something similar.I cut up some cooked pork into small pieces and added that to the trap.Within an hour I started trapping Yellow Jackets. The picture if my harvest after three days!!I dumped these out, washed the trap and added fresh cooked pork from the refrigerator. A few minutes later I one in the trap. You can use any cooked meat, I just happened to have left over grill pork.

Wow
I remembered my parents having these when I wa s younger, thought I’d give them a try. They’re crushing it! I am a little sad they catch everything, I’d like to let the bees live. But the number of wasps and flies is disgusting in a satisfying way. It comes with two traps and recipes to make the bait. Recipes were super helpful because if I didn’t have something on one i would have everything for a different recipe. I’m assuming they’re going to be a little gross to clean out, but I’m planning to just wear gloves and dump it in a grocery bag. Also the one that get some sunlight has caught more than the one fully in the shade. I’m assuming the batch was smellier in the Sun and that attracted more. Debating just having the one up and switching it out to give all the bugs time to die before dumping it.

Took About a Week, but it's Catching Wasps Now
I made bait recipe #3 in the booklet that comes with the traps. No wasps were interested for about a week. Then they started showing up and are getting stuck in the trap and eventually dying. At some point I will have to clean out the traps, but it's been so warm lately and there are a few stragglers clinging to life in the trap when I check in the morning. I'm not really interested in being stung by one of the more hardier wasps clinging to life inside the trap, so I will wait for cooler morning weather to clean the traps, get rid of the wasp exoskeletons and put in some fresh bait.

These traps work so well I bought another set!
I moved into a new home recently and I discovered I had a lot of wasps. Paper wasps, yellowjackets, mud wasps; I had all sorts of these little bugs in my property. So I used sprays and a bug zapper, and those weren't enough. So I got these, and boy do they work really well! I catch so many of these horrible bugs! I don't have a wasp problem anymore. Also, I don't have a problem catching bees and moths, they just aren't big enough to fit inside the openings. Only sometimes does a fly get in there. These traps were designed to catch wasps.

One Flaw
It works. The little buggers crawl inside to devour the delicious (to them) bait. Not able to fly back out, they perish... except for the lucky few who figure out that the hole on top (right under where the string attaches) is an escape hole. I watched couple of em crawl out to their freedom before I put a piece of tape over the hole to prevent the jail breaks.

7/23/23 Awesome
I have at least 7 hummingbird feeders around my yard. The feeders were attracting a lot of wasps and yellow jackets. The wasps seemed like they were taking over. I bought these traps, and got a cue tip and put nectar inside the holes. I added orange juice and nectar inside the trap. I put them next to two of my hummingbird feeders. The next morning I caught 4 wasps and 3 yellow jackets. So, they do work and my hummingbirds have their feeders back. The hummingbirds were not bothered by these traps. They work better if you put them where the wasps/jackets are already feeding.

Works really well but not for really large wasps (tarantula hawks)
Two days ago, I put up two traps to help with my infestation of Tarantula Hawk wasps. The traps certainly do attract them, and few get inside, but the holes are too small for larger, mature TH wasps. It does catch lots of flies of all sorts. I may drill out the openings a bit and see if I can get them to work for my purpose. I am not sure if bees have been caught or not. I'll quit using the traps if I find bees in the discarded juice.
