Great Suction
With four cats - two of them long hair - I have hair and cat litter everywhere. The Eureka non canister vacuum was horrible to clean and needed at least two cleanings when vacuuming. I searched Amazon and Reddit for a few hours trying to decide what to get. I know I wanted a bagged canister vacuum at a decent price. This one had a decent price, good reviews on Amazon, was bagged, and a long cord. It was easy to put together. It worked well the first time I used it. Great suction and picked up all the hair and cat litter. The floors didn't feel sand. No annoying canister to dump out and deal with litter filled cat hair stuck in the vacuum.I'm not sure if I would suggest it if you have lots of rugs. There's not beater bar and it would be a workout with the suction from this vacuum. It worked well on my tile floors. The long cord means I can do half my house without moving the cord from outlet to outlet. You have to coil the cord yourself, which may prove to be a hassle, but it was easy to do. Off to buy a lifetime supply of vacuum bags as they only sell them in sets of 25 - wish they would sell in packs of 5 for household use.

No frills, works great
We have 3 large dogs that shed ALOT. I needed a vac that can handle that and go under furniture. This fits the bill. It has strong, strong suction & no beater bar to damage our laminate. The bags are thick and strong. This is a no frills vacuum. It does have a few attachments. If it holds up over time I would say this is close to perfect. Also, the cord is very long so less moving the plug when vacuuming the house.

I miss having a real powered spinning brush head (beater bar) for household carpeting
I have 3 vacuums in the house. A +15 year old Kenmore HEPA canister vacuum built like a tank. And 2 stick vacuums. The old Kenmore is upstairs where we have wall-to-wall carpeting. The Dyson stick vac is on the first floor where we have hardwood and tile. And the 2nd stick vac (generic company) is in the basement where it's pretty gross. The positives are obvious the moment you turn the Newton on for the first time.Suction: The suction on the Newton is incredibly powerful. Hands down the strongest of my 3 vacuums.Lightweight: Compared to the Kenmore, this canister vac is so much more maneuverable due to its small size and weight. I can easily carry it in one hand while vacuuming the whole (carpeted) staircase.Quiet: It's about the same loudness as a stick vac, which is incredible because the stick vacs are about half the suction power.HEPA: Very very important for use inside the house. Not as much important for garage use.Compatiblity: The Newton is compatible with Henry attachments. I have not tested this out, but in the official video from the company, demonstrating the Newton, the spokesperson flat out says that the accessories are compatible. I wonder if the bags are compatible... hope another reviewer mentions it.Now for the Newton Negatives:NO POWER HEAD (beater bar): I miss having a "real" powered spinning brushhead floor attachment. Also known as a beater bar. The Kenmore we use for the upstairs with wall to wall carpeting has this incredibly strong spinning power brushhead. It literally SCRUBS the carpet clean. Making those satisfying line marks in the carpet. Hah! Also, without the powerhead, the (unpowered) Newton carpet head kind of drags along the carpet, taking way way more effort to push and pull it while vacuuming carpet. I can see how this isn't as much of a deal in hotels and businesses where the carpeting pile is short and firm. For household carpeting, I feel you kind of need that beater bar to get all the dust/lint out of the soft carpeting.NO CLICK LOCK: Once in a while, with "vigorous" use, the vacuum head will pop off from the wand. The attachments are only connected with friction. Jam it in there to connect. Yank it off of there to disconnect. My Kenmore canister has button click-locks to positively lock the attachments in.WIMPY hard floor head attachment: The bristles are plasticky and short and cheap. Get a third party floor attachment. I actually had an extra generic one around the house with longer bristles. The third party floor head attachment was much easier to use on floors. Less of a "scraping" feel to it because of the longer better quality bristles on the third party head. That's about all the negatives. The Newton is a very good vacuum otherwise, even with these three negatives for the price. Great bang for the buck with a third party hard floor attachment.

Better suction, less noise
I love this vacuum. It is built for commercial use and is my second commercial vacuum.I have dust and pollen allergies and have used a bagged commercial vacuum for several years. Buying bags costs a bit more but there’s no dust cloud when emptying the bin. The bag contains all the dust. This canister vacuum goes even further, the bags are microfiber, not paper, and hold a significant amount. If you’ve ever seen the vacuums, with goofy faces on them, used on cruise ships or in European hotels you know the type of vacuum that this Powr-Flite Newton is designed to be. It is compact, powerful and very quiet for a vacuum. The suction is stronger than most domestic vacuums. The design is no frills, the attachments are basic and it is a workhorse. What I like…- Very quiet. The sound of air entering the nozzle is louder than the motor. Really.- Triple filtration. The large capacity HEPA bags are disposable. The canister filter and HEPA motor filter are washable and replaceable. (See pics)- The cord is 35 feet long. My house is big and the long cord permits more cleaning and less moving the plug.- The cord can be replaced by the user. It plugs into the motor head, if needing replacement simply remove the retaining clips and replace the cord. Brilliant.- Everything stores on the canister for easy access. (See pic)- Super suction power. Clean like a pro.Shortcomings…- The combo floor nozzle and rug nozzle is best for hard floors and short pile rugs. It must be set to the correct floor type. If it is set to the rug setting on hard flooring or the inverse hard floor when used on rugs, it will be very difficult to maneuver.- The HEPA replacement bags are only available in packs of 25 which is pricy for a household.- The wand and floor nozzle are not as well supported when attached to the canister as they could be. They connect via a hook on the wand. There’s also a hook on the floor nozzle that would provide good support, yet there’s no corresponding support for it on the canister. The box included the assembled vacuum with bag and filters, a long hose, adjustable wand, the floor nozzle, a dusting brush, a crevice tool and a pictorial user manual. No extra bags or filters were included. (See pic)I have a generic air turbine powered carpet nozzle that I bought for use with my old vacuum. It barely would spin. With the Newton, even with the suction at reduced level, it spins like a jet engine. Amazing. I recommend a similar nozzle if you have carpeting.I recommend this vacuum for commercial or office use as well as for those who, like me, want the best suction and filtration to lean their home with less noise. My home is already cleaner. I hope this information was helpful to you.——-This review is for:Powr-Flite Newton Compact Vacuum Cleaner Canister with HEPA Filtration, Portable Vacuum for Hardwood Floors and Rugs, PV610-Q10-U
