Great Device. Great Pics. Great Price
… use and review starts in 3rd paragraph …Most of my house was destroyed here in the Florida Panhandle my Hurricane Michael. It may have disappeared from the country's view in a couple weeks. but now, later months later, my neighborhood still looks like blue tent city -- from all the roof tarps still in place as people attempt to fight insurance companies and get on waiting lists with roofing companies.… But I digress … I bought this because the pipes supplying water to my house that were destroyed by Michael's wind were finally repaired after 3.5 months. The downside was the drain line from the bathroom was clogged after sitting inactive for so long, the toilet, sink, and shower all took forever to drain.Snaking the drain did not correct the problem. My plumber recommended finding a company to camera the drain line and then, if it showed no signs of damage, hydro-blast it clean. Since my plumber's camera was in the shop for repairs, I opted to try my own hand at imaging the drain, rather than try a different unproven plumber.I ordered the DepsTech WF020X (B0785H3XR7) and ran it down the drain line. For my first use and its first job, the whole thing when very smoothly. At first I thought the image was over-exposed, until I realized I had turned up the LEDs all the way thinking the dark pipe would need every bit of possible illumination. Not true. The DepsTech only needed about 50% power to LEDs to create a great image of the pipe. The semi-rigid wire made pushing the camera through the pipe easy. When the first pass failed to show any obvious blockage, I took out the camera and installed the angled viewing mirror for another pass. I figured I would take a closer look at the walls of the pipe before I made a decision. As I advanced the camera down the pipe, I simply twisted the camera's cable to rotate the camera. This time I found were each bathroom fixture fed into the drainage pipe. The openings were very small. I couldn't figure out what was blocking the openings, but it appeared to be some smooth substance, like sediment.Next I took out the camera and hydro-cleaned the drain line. At first I started off at Amazon looking for a sewer jetter, and almost bought a JetSnake, but in doing my research, I found it was VERY IMPORTANT to match a sewer jetter (nozzle size and length of hose) with your pressure washer (psi and gpm). People in the questions' section saying the jetters work with any pressure washer probably don't understand how back pressure can ruin a pressure washer. I finally went with Clog Hog (who doesn't sell on Amazon - what a shame), where you have to select your pressure and gpm before selecting the sewer jetter. If you try to buy one that doesn't match your pressure washer, the company will sell it to you, but first, they will contact you and offer the correct model for your pressure washer. great customer service there. So I hydro-cleaned the drain line using my pressure washer, equipped with a Clog Hog. It took longer to set up the pressure washer then to do the job. After the hydro-cleaning, I ran my DepsTech back through the drain line once again. Once again the images were amazing. Even though this is not a Clog Hog review, I will say that the pipe after hydro-cleaning, compared with the pipe after power-snaking, was the difference of day and night. That drain line was CLEAN, and all the openings from bathroom fixtures were clear. Toilet flush, no problem; and the shower drains better now than I can ever remember it draining before.Having the DepsTech to show me the problem and verify the cleaning was awesome. Best of all, the DepsTech (and my Clog Hog) were still cheaper than hiring a plumber. Also, it was faster than hiring a plumber, since right row, plumber's around Panama City, FL are still booked solid 1-2 months in advance trying to repair hurricane damage.Next I used my DepsTech to look inside my AC supply ducts, which I suspected were damaged by the 155 mph winds ripping through my attic. My vent ducts are made of duct board -- a semi-rigid fiberglass board with a foil coating on one side. From the outside, the ducts looked dented but relatively okay. When I ran the camera through, I found that large sections of fiberglass had broken off the inside and were, in some cases, partially blocking the duct. I took pictures and sent them to my insurance company to have the AC ducts added to my homeowner's claim. They added the ductwork to my line item repair estimate. So now, my general contractor can contract someone to repair or replace the damaged areas. Best of all, since I have this little camera, when the sub-contractor says the duct work is finished, I plan on inspecting the job from the inside. This is a great product.

Nice little device!
I have had the Depstech 1200P for a few weeks now and would like to share my thoughts so far.My transaction with Depstech was excellent. I had thoughtful followup from the company, making sure I'd received the device and that I was happy. The device was nicely packaged. Everything was nicely sorted and organized. Many parts had plastic protection to prevent scratching. The case is a nice touch. It protects and organizes the pieces well. Just the right size and level of protection. In the package I found:The USB camera with LED lightsThe WiFi base with battery pack and LED flashlightA USB charging cableA vial containing 4 otoscope cones (for looking into the ear)A ziplock bag with 2 otoscope attachments. I believe they are tools to help with ear inspection.A few packets of alcohol wipes for sanitation.A multi lingual manual was included in the package. The USB camera has a dial control that allows you to dim the LED lights at the tip of the camera.Observations so far:My WiFi unit with battery pack arrived with no detectable charge. I plugged the USB charging cable in and let it charge. It took approximately 3 hours to fully charge. The main power switch is supposed to provide a battery level indicator with a quick press. That doesn't seem to work for my unit, but all other features are working as expected. When I long-press the main button, it does come on and provide the wifi hotspot necessary to connect to the camera wirelessly to your phone. When on, the LED battery level indicator operates normally. The instructions are adequate to get started but don't really provide a complete user's guide. You get directions for using the camera wirelessly with your smartphone or via direct USB connection to a PC or Mac. Since my battery arrived without a charge, my first use was via direct connection to my Mac. The USB camera is seen as another camera to choose from on the Mac. I opened Photo Booth and investigated the camera in that application. The camera worked well for me. I started by using it to look at items on my desk close up and then looking into things around my office that are not accessible for viewing with such a flexible, narrow camera with lights at the tip. Once I got comfortable, I then used the camera to look in my ears. The focal range is fairly narrow. The camera seems to focus best about 1" away from the subject. It takes a little patience to get it positioned correctly but the images produced are good enough for my needs. The LED lights are warm to the touch, warm in the ear. But they are tolerable. I confess I didn't use the ear cones initially, so I was much closer to the LEDs than I should have been.As you might imagine, you see unfamiliar sights looking into your ear. Fascinating. And it made me go look for Q-tips to do some cleaning...Using the WiFi interface is straightforward. connect the USB camera to the WiFi interface, turn on the WiFi interface, connect to the Wifi interface on your smartphone, then open the WiFi Camera app provided by the company on the app store or play store. The WiFi Camera app is rudimentary but gets the job done just fine.I was prompted to write my review today by an unexpected use. I woke this morning with something in my eye, likely an eyelash. I've had two episodes this year of an eyelash deciding to grow in an unwanted direction and rub on the surface of the eye. It's particularly challenging for me to examine my own eyes as I require glasses or contacts for visual acuity. Either solution gets in the way of looking at one's own eye. I decided to get out the otoscope and was delighted to find that it provided an excellent solution for examination of my eye, eyelashes and lids. Care is required of course. I was able to determine that it wasn't a mis-growing lash and proceeded to fix the issue by flushing the eye. Saved me a trip to the optometrist (my only solution for removing errant lashes).I would love to see a more complete manual, including more details on the otoscope tools. The cones are obvious. The other items appear to be helpful for reaching into the ear and perhaps pressing outward on the ear canal, sort of like a tongue depressor. But ears are delicate and I'd hate for someone to hurt their ears from improper use.I would have appreciated having the unit arrive in a fully charged state, but that was easily overcome. It would be nice if the camera had a longer focal length, but I was able to accomplish what I needed with the focal length as is.I did receive this unit as part of a test group in exchange for my review. This is my 2nd product from Depstech. The first I bought at full price and have been pleased with so far.
