12 Ways to Get to 11 (Aladdin Picture Books)

Nice addition to my classroom library. Decided to get this because of my Number Talks to encourage students to be flexible with math in their minds.

Well done Ms. Merriam!I want to come back after I've had some time to build lessons from this one, but I can tell you that this is definitely a book that you will use and reuse—I'll come back when I have some ideas, but chock full of examples to explore and discuss as mathematicians and scholars!

We wanted to supplement our kindergartener's math skills and understanding of word problems. We thought this would me a fun book.

My children are prek and 1st graders they both enjoyed reading and listening to this math book

Excellent for young children for flexible thinking in math.

This book really made my students listen. As they were listening to it, you could almost see their minds doing the math in their heads. Good for them to see that there are so many ways to get to 11.

Great book. My kindergarten students liked it a lot.

Not what I was expecting but the description was poor so I took a chance. I thought it would be a story based on 11+0, 10+1, 9+2 etc which would give 12 number facts of 11. It starts like this but goes into sums like 3+6+2. A decent enough wee book to make a link between literacy and numeracy and if you are working with adding more than 2 digits then you might find a way to use it.

Number sense math stories are always appreciated and not easy to find. My grade one class enjoyed it. Thank you!+

book was purchased at used. It arrived mouldy.Not happy at all. As its a book for my young daughter I won't even let her touch it.
