I usually use Sharpie pens as my thick permanent marker. But if I leave the cap off even just a short amount of time while working on a construction project they tend to dry up pretty fast and I have to toss them in the trash. In contrast, this Artline Magnum pen is more forgiving and still works if I forget to put the cap back on. I tested it and it still works!This is a great do-it-all marked that is a bit more durable than others.

Tested to see if it really wouldn't dry out. Left out for a day on purpose but forgot and 3 days later worked as usual! Great to toss in a tool bag or car without worrying heat will mess with it. Just has an odd cap that isn't really slotted for pockets just looks like it. Still great though!

I use permanent markers all the time, from notes that I need to ensure won't be lost if the paper gets wet to all kinds of markings on all kinds of surfaces while working on projects in the garage.The markers are a nice size for when you need a little larger line and more capacity than the standard Sharpie offers. They are a bit bigger than standard fine tip markers and around half the size of king size. With a pointed tip, they offer a consistent line thickness that's just a little bigger than standard sharpies. See the included pictures for the pen and line size comparison; the king size line is with the short edge of the chisel tip, not the long edge.I like that there is a tip and color indicator on the lid. I think it's also impressive that they say the lids can be left off for two weeks without the marker drying. I usually don't forget for that long, but if I do, it's nice to know they won't be ruined if left open for a few days. It also means that I can leave them open while I'm actively using them over a period of time, unlike regular Sharpies that start to dry out and don't like to be left open for more than a few minutes.

The pull a smooth, clean line, are very dark, write on every surface I tried. Best of all, they don't dry out easily. I left the lid off one for over 2 weeks, testing it out every couple days. At two weeks the line was just as clean as when I opened it. Excellent. (Sidenote: I've been delighted with almost every Art Line marker I've tried. Their garden markers hold up to multiple seasons of UV light in long Kansas summers and freezing, rainy  winters. Vs. a classic sharpie, vanishes off plant markers halfway through the summer.)

I was interested in this marker for their claims that it won't dry out if you leave the cap off. After receiving them, I took the cap off one marker and left it sitting on the counter for two weeks, then tested it on paper as shown, and it immediately came back to life!Overall review of the markers:It's a good value pack of black markers. The tip is big, so you won't get marks as precise as a fine-point marker. I had no issues marking a variety of materials (I mostly used them on wood and PVC for marking cuts). An odor is noticable when you first uncap the marker, but disapates quickly.

He says they work very well, leave a thicker line than the other brand (he does wish it was a little thicker), and there’s plenty of extras. He’s happy except for that one thing mentioned above. Recommend.
