After a spinal injury, I purchased this item due to having to spend extended time in bed.The good points are that it is very easy to setup. Just attach the rubber hose pipes to the pump and topper, and switch on. It then inflates, and starts to cycle the inflation into the rows of air pockets. The level of inflation can be adjusted via the rotary dial on the pump.The main con, is that there is a horrible synthetic smell coming from my topper. At some point I will dissemble it and wash the topper with soapy water, and leave to air out. I would suggest this should be done as a matter of course prior to use, just to get rid of the strong rubber(?) smell, if your version also suffers from this.I also needed to move the pump a bit further than the enclosed 1m, double hose allowed. This was simply remedied by my purchasing similar hoses of 2m each, in my case. If you need to do same, the dimensions to purchase are: outer diameter: 10mm, and inner diameter: 5mm.You will also need to purchase a two pin to three pin adapter, not shaver adapter.Apart from the small issues outlined, this item works as described, and is a good price.

Value for money, good quality and product doing its job re: prevention of pressure sores.

Bought for husband after operation which meant could not sit or lie down without significant pain. This mattress is excellent value for money, it is being used 24 hours a day either in bed or on sofa for a few weeks now. It is very easy to set up, comes with puncture repair kit very quiet is easy to parcel up and carry up and down stairs. I would highly recommend.

Hard and uncomfortable

I would have given 5 stars if it had been fitted with a UK 3 pin plug. It has a 2 pin but is lose in my 2 pin adapter. I have ordered a new adaper which may solve the problem. Other than that it is an excellent product.

I brought this matress for my mum she was a bit unsure to start with but after using it for a couple of weeks she has found it very comfortable and her bed sores have disappeared.
