Great simple backpack with nice features
I bought this bag because I have had other tomtoc products that I enjoyed and I liked the style of this bag. It looks great, has a nice padded laptop compartment that I am able to fit my macbook pro m3 16" into despite the 15.6" laptop size specified. The expanding bottle holders on the side are great for water bottles and powerbanks. I also really like the magnetic front pocket and the side access zipper. The color is a little darker yellow than I expected and looks more similar to "Carhartt yellow" than the bright yellow that I thought it would be but it still looks really good. The build quality seems good with nice zippers and the fabric's water resistance was enough for a light drizzle but I have not tested it in heavy rain.

Well designed and affordable!
I intend to use this backpack when I travel as both my carry-on bag and my edc bag. I love how comfortable the straps are and the bag sits securely without getting too slouchy and sloppy. The side zip pocket is well-thought out for easy access to more frequently needed items, but the zipper lock keeps it secure when you need to be sure its closed well. The soft pocket keeps your tablet protected and comfy! I love bags that help keep everything organized, but don't necessarily have 3 dozen different compartments in them that I'll either never use or that I'll never be able to remember what I put in them. I also have the Tomtoc sling for at home EDC use and I love it. It's just the right size and easy to wear. Tomtoc makes great quality bags! Love it!

Best underseat pack for space efficiency
My top priority was the way the bag fits under an airplane seat, as I often fly airlines that charge extra for a carry on. The design of this pack is perfect for that. It easily fits with a bit more room for your feet/legs. The flap opening helps it to keep its shape, and I think adds interior room compared to designs with lots of zippers and pockets. The tradeoff is you have to pull everything out from the top, though there is a side opening that is not quite the full length of the pack. So unlike a zip-around opening, you might have to reach down and fish things out of the bottom. I use packing cubes so it's easy to just pull them out. I think the minimalist design saves weight and with no zippers the compartment is very tough. So with this pack you get lighter weight and greater strength than those with many compartments and zippers. It still has a few pockets, so it's not just a simple rucksack, and they're well thought out, like the little magnetic closure pocket in front. Great for one-bag travel when you can take only a personal item.

This is the everyday bag I have been looking for!
After ordering a cheaper bag (wish I would have seen its YouTube review first) for $30 on here, I did some more research. I was looking for durability, great padding, a fair price, and something that looked good too. I think I found it. I teach high school computer tech so a laptop is often on the move with me and I just purchased my first iPad Pro a week ago and wanted something to keep it and the keyboard safe while transporting it. I have only had it one day and I love it. The straps are really comfortable, there are loops on them to secure all kinds of other things if you were going on the trail. I am not certain this would hold up to heavy duty hiking, but I could see it being useful on a smaller trip. The side bottle pockets hold my Yeti 18 oz bottle well, I don’t think it would take a much bigger bottle. I had my 32 oz big bottle inside the main opening and it made it so much easier to carry this morning. I have had my father-in-law’s old Air Force helmet bag for years and it has no shoulder strap.I can say without hesitation that I would recommend this for anyone looking for a classic style bag that can carry laptops, tablets, and all the gear that goes with that with no problems. I forgot to mention the side zipper which gives access to the main compartment without having to open the top or undo the clips, you just wouldn’t be able to get your tablet or laptop out this way.The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I just received it, so hopefully I can give an update after I have had it a few months.

What a bag!!!! That’s a 5 stars from me!
I had the Herschel little America bag for 2 years and couldn’t stand the fact it had minor organization slots and absolutely no water bottle side pockets! This one is absolutely a 10 out of 10. It has 2 elastic side water bottle pockets, a laptop AND tablet padded compartment, a false bottom to protect your tech and it has multiple outer pockets where you can throw your quick access stuff. It’s also kinda antitheft since you literally have to buckle up the bag to open it and it also has a side/front zipper to access the main compartment that’s tied to a clip so only if you unclip it you can access the bag without having to unbuckle it. That’s a perfect purchase for whoever loves the heritage style but wants durability, functionality and comfort without paying a 100$ for a Herschel backpack that offers much less.

Lightweight, versatile and stylish
Bought this backpack when I was starting a new job and it was able to carry everything I needed for my day-to-day. It carried my 12” laptop, 12” iPad, headphones and still had room for my sketchpad and accessories. Side pockets are big enough for standard disposable water bottles but might be hard to fit the larger capacity flasks. The pockets also have a magnet enclosure so that’s super convenient. Bonus: it only looks expensive. It’s actually quite affordable when stacked against similar bags.

The Goldilocks of backpacks
I've found this to be the perfect size for travel. It's not so big that it has trouble fitting under the seat in front of you on the plane, but large enough to carry all my essentials with a little extra room for souvenirs. The build quality is high and it's my favorite out of my current backpacks (of which I have quite a few)!
